By doing this, Joshua will be taking a huge risk because three out of his four wins in this years’ 2012 Olympics were highly questionable victories.

By Scott Gilfoid: The 22-year-old British Olympic 2012 super heavyweight gold medalist Anthony Joshua reportedly plans on staying in the amateur ranks a little longer to try and capture both the World and European titles before he eventually turns pro at some point. This is actually a good thing for Joshua, because right now if he turned pro his game would be too flawed for him to contend with the top fighters in the sport, and it might take many years to learn what he should have learned in the amateurs.

They point out the reason why Joshua struggled through the Olympic competition and won several questionable decisions along the way was because Joshua has been boxing for only four years. The problem here is that a lot of Joshua’s competition in the Olympics were about the same age as him at 22, and if Joshua gets better you got to imagine the guys he competed against will get better as well. Joshua’s wins over Erislandy Savon, Ivan Dychko and Roberto Cammerelle were highly questionable ones. Savon and Dychko are both only 22.

By Scott Gilfoid: I must say that after watching Britain’s Anthony Joshua win the gold medal in the super heavyweight division today against Italy’s Roberto Cammarelle in controversial fashion for the third time in this year’s Olympics, I think Audley Harrison of Britain did a MUCH better job of winning his Olympic super heavyweight gold medal in the 2000 Olympics.

They pretty much unanimously see Joshua having lost to Cammarelle today. I think that kind of taints Joshua’s victory, doesn’t it?

By Scott Gilfoid: For the 2nd time in the Olympic competition, Britain’s home fighter Anthony Joshua won a controversial decision in a fight he appeared to lose at home in London in the 2012 super heavyweight Olympic competition. Joshua beat 2008 Italian super heavyweight gold medalist Roberto Cammarelle by a 18-18 score, which then went into a countback tie-breaker. Joshua was given the gold based on his last round score of 8-5.
