McGrail vs. Leach Live On DAZN On April 27th

The talented Liverpudlian prospect Peter McGrail will be looking to put on a boxing clinic on the seasoned ‘Livewire’ Marc Leach — after being denied the chance to avenge his only loss against American Ja’Rico O’Quinn.

Last time out, McGrail was upset by the American super-bantamweight prospect O’Quinn and April 27th was supposed to be his shot at redeeming the blemish on his record. Instead, owing to personal family matters drawing O’Quinn from the ring, the former English and British super-bantamweight champion Marc Leach will fill the void.

A hungry McGrail will be sure to put on a performance either way, wanting to make a statement coming off the shocking upset last time out. Seemingly in control until the knockout, it is clear that McGrail does not lack in skill and will be aiming to put on an impressive display in his attempt to keep busy until he can get the revenge his record needs.

On the Next Gen branded Matchroom card, a belt is also on the line; an IBF World Lightweight title. ‘The Beast’ Beatriz Ferreira, a 4-0 fighter with a brilliant 101-9 amateur record will have to throw-down with South American Lightweight and WBC Latino Lightweight champion Yanina del Carmen Lescano. This will be an astonishing test for both women; placing amateur talent and pedigree against the raw experience of a professional who has already captured belts at a national level. This, arguably more-so than the headline fight, will be one-to-watch and certainly, it will have the most stakes.

Elsewhere on the main card, three talented prospects are being offered tests that will highlight their aptitude in the British boxing scene. 8-0 super welterweight Junaid Bostan is an example of Matchroom’s commitment to good matchmaking, with very few fights against out-right journeymen. Despite losses to Queensberry’s Dennis McCann and Jack Oliphant, he is being well-maintained so far.

5-0 Maisey Rose Courtney is to take on two-time European Super Flyweight title challenger Giuseppina Di Stefano, giving the 23 year old Courtney solid experience in her sixth fight. Finally, the younger McGrail, Joe, enters his 10th bout against a former Southern Area bantamweight champion Ryan Walker; again, this is a solid experience-builder for the younger brother.

So, with exciting fights and plenty of experience-builders, April 27th will be a productive night for many of the young men and women entering the bright lights of the ring and should provide an enjoyable experience to the viewers at home.
