Steward says Wladimir is really angry at Chisora

Image: Steward says Wladimir is really angry at ChisoraBy Scott Gilfoid: It looks like Dereck Chisora (14-0, 9 KO’s) has really stepped in it with his over the top bravado at the recent press conferences with IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (55-3, 49 KO’s), because Wladimir’s trainer Emanuel Steward says Wladimir is really upset and wants to start training immediately. Wladimir wasn’t expecting a small heavyweight with lack of experience like Chisora to be coming into the press conference as if he’s going to beat Wladimir. In his interview with Sky Sports today, Wladimir seemed to be playing it cool when asked questions about Chisora, and was basically saying good stuff about him. But I had a feeling Wladimir wasn’t telling them how he really feels about Chisora. I think he wants to tear him apart now, like a surrogate David Haye. Oh, this is going to be bad for Chisora. Now, he’s going to get a pizza face, and if he’s really lucky, he’ll be put out of his misery early by Wladimir. I doubt it, though. I think Wladimir is going to make Chisora suffer slowly on December 11th.

Harrison thinks Chisora will struggle with Wladimir’s offense

Image: Harrison thinks Chisora will struggle with Wladimir's offenseBy William Mackay: Former Olympic Gold Medalist and European Boxing Union (EBU] heavyweight champion Audley Harrison (27-4, 20 KO’s) thinks Dereck Chisora (14-0, 9 KO’s) will have problems with IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko’s offense when they meet up in December. Speaking with Sky Sports Ringside, Harrison said I think his [Wladimir] offense is so good. These guys can’t go past his offense with his jab, timing and distance. These guys don’t know enough to close him down. I think that’s where Dereck Chisora is going to struggle.”

Chisora taunts Wladimir “Who do you love more your titles or your girlfriend?”

Image: Chisora taunts Wladimir “Who do you love more your titles or your girlfriend?”By Joe Mitchell: Unbeaten heavyweight world title challenger Derek Chisora (14-0 9 KO’s) angered Wladimir Klitschko today at the press conference in England today. He said he has never seen Wladimir’s fights and he only watched the ring entrances because that was the only good thing to watch. He also said the boxing in the ring is embarrassing for the fans and not good for boxing. Chisora has been very vocal and said he is the hungriest fighter Klitschko has faced and vowed to “rough him up”.

Chisora calls Briggs an “Embarrassment to boxing”

By Dave Lahr: I just saw video of the press conference between IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (55-3, 49 KO’s) and his next opponent Derek Chisora (14-0, 9 KO’s) in Germany. Chisora called Shannon Briggs an “Embarrassment to boxing” because he was beaten by WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko last weekend. I’d like to see how Chisora would fight with a torn left biceps. He should try that out for a change. He can come back at 38, then experience a tear in his left biceps and then fight for 12 rounds with it. I’d like to see how well Chisora does fighting with that kind of injury at that advanced age.

Chisora says he and Haye will beat Wladimir and Vitali, because “We’re better athletes”

Image: Chisora says he and Haye will beat Wladimir and Vitali, because "We're better athletes"By William Mackay: British and Commonwealth heavyweight champion Dereck Chisora (14-0, 9 KO’s) lost his temper with IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (55-3, 45 KO’s) recently in Germany. Wladimir took issue with some of the comments that Chisora made about Shannon Briggs, and Wladimir said “I want you to give respect to the man [Briggs] because he deserves it.” While Wladiimir was still talking, an angry Chisora cut in on him, saying “I am going to come physically to take the titles off of you. I expect you to give me a better fight than your last opponents. He [Briggs] came to to get paid like the rest of the Americans.

Haye thinks Chisora isn’t ready for Klitschko

Image: Haye thinks Chisora isn’t ready for KlitschkoBy Scott Gilfoid: In the latest boxing news, WBA heavyweight champion David Haye doesn’t feel that British heavyweight Dereck Chisora (14-0, 9 KO’s) is ready to beat IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (55-3, 49 KO’s), who the 26-year-old Chisora will be taking on in December on the 11th at the SAP-Arena, Mannheim, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Speaking to the BBC.co.uk, Haye said “I hope he [Chisora] can pull it off but he’s neither physically or mentally ready. British level and world level is a completely different sport. Maybe if Dereck had won a European title and defended that three or four times against good caliber opposition and fought some world ranked fighters, potentially he’d have a shot.” But he’s had no real amateur pedigree, had only 14 fights against journeyman and the best he’s won is the British title, which is no bad thing.”

Chisora says he doesn’t want to fight bums

By Sean McDaniel: British and Commonwealth champion Derek Chisora (14-0, 9 KO’s) will be taking on one of the most dangerous heavyweights in the world when he faces IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (55-3, 49 KO’s) on December 11th at the SAP-Arena, Mannheim, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Chisora, 26, has done very little to prove that he’s going to be able to stand in with Klitschko for any length of time. Chisora has an even shorter reach than recent Klitschko victim Eddie Chambers, who was unable to land hardly any of his shots because he didn’t have the long enough reach to hit Wladimir. And Lamon Brewster, one of the few that have stopped Wladimir in the past, has a three inch reach advantage over Chisora. So, in other words, Chisora is going to have to walk through a lot of heavy shots for him to get near enough to Klitschko to land his shots.

Klitschko-Chisora: How badly will Wladimir massacre Derek on 12/11?

By Scott Gilfoid: IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (55-3, 49 KO’s) has selected one of arguably the weakest opponents he’s ever faced during his championship campaign in undefeated 2nd tier heavyweight Derek Chisora (14-0, 9 KO’s), who Wladimir will be facing on December 11th at the SAP-Arena, Mannheim, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. I’ve seen four or five of Chisora’s previous bouts and I can’t say I was impressed at all.

Haye: “It’s [Chisora-Klitschko] not a big fight in terms of numbers”

By William Mackay: WBA heavyweight champion David Haye (24-1, 22 KO’s) doesn’t see the point in IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko’s decision to fight the obscure British and Commonwealth heavyweight champion Derek Chisora (14-0, 9 KO’s) next on December 11th. Haye, speaking to the Mirror.co.uk, said “For Wladimir to fight Chisora, people will ask ‘is this a joke?’ It’s not a fight fight in terms of numbers and I’m not sure how many will want to see it.” Well, Haye is right about that, but he seems to be obvious as the why Wladimir has selected Chisora to fight.
