By Dave Lahr: Don Charles, the trainer for unbeaten Dereck Chisora (14-0, 9 KO’s), thinks Chisora is more powerful than IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (55-3, 49 KO’s). Speaking to Sky Sports, Charles says “Dereck’s actually a thicker set. We will equalize the disadvantage in height with power. I believe Dereck’s more powerful than Wladimir.” I don’t really agree with Charles, but it doesn’t matter that Chisora doesn’t punch as hard as Wladimir. I do know that Chisora punches plenty hard and if he can land some of his shots, he’ll have an excellent chance of winning.

Wladimir has a weak chin and it doesn’t take a monstrous puncher to take him out. All it will take is for Chisora to duck under Wladimir’s jabs, get close and nail Wladimir on his tender chin. That’s all it will take. The key is for Chisora to duck Wladimir’s jabs, right hands and left hooks and then pound him with power shots in close.

Wladimir already appears to have lost the mental war with Chisora in their press conferences. Chisora seems to have the edge, because he’s gotten Wladimir angry each time and Wladimir seems intimidated by Chisora for some reason. Whether Chisora is acting upset or if he’s talking calmly, Wladimir seems unnerved by it. Chisora recognizes this, saying “I did get under his skin. Every time he sees me, he’s always huffing and puffing. So what can I say.” Wladimir looks like a school kid entering the play ground for the first time each time he interacts with Chisora. I don’t know what Wladimir could do to get the edge, because he simply doesn’t seem to have the same wit as Chisora and will have problems no matter what he does in their meetings.
