Image: Haye gives Chisora no chance at beating Wladimir KlitschkoBy Dan Ambrose: Despite backing him for the December 11th title fight against IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (55-3, 49 KO’s), WBA heavyweight champion David Haye is giving fellow countrymen Dereck Chisora (14-0, 9 KO’s) no chance at beating Klitschko on the 11th of next month in their fight in Germany. Speaking with Sportinglife.co.uk, Haye said “Of course, I’ll be supporting him [Chisora]. He’s a fellow Brit and it would be nice for him to do it. But no matter how much support I give him, he’s not going to win the fight. So it’s irrelevant how much support I give him.”

Haye is right. He could do the politically correct thing and support Chisora all he wants so as to look good to his country, but at the end of the day Chisora is still way too small, too weak, too slow and far too inexperienced to beat a fighter like Wladimir Klitschko. Chisora might have a chance against someone like Haye, but Wladimir is a whole different ball game and much superior to him in every way possible. It’s nice that Wladimir has decided to give Chisora once in a lifetime shot at the title, because chances are that without Wladimir picking him out, Chisora would never get a world title shot in his career. He’s done well against the local fighters, but it’s doubtful he would ever get beyond the European level because of his lack of size and power.

Chisora has to make the most of his opportunities against Wladimir if he has any hope of winning, because he’s going to be getting an awful lot while on the way. You can expect Chisora to be tagged with a number mammoth shots each time he tries to get in close. The type of shots that Chisora will be getting hit with are power shots that he’s never experienced before. Given that Chisora was staggered in his last fight against Sam Sexton in September, it doesn’t bode well for Chisora against a much bigger puncher and much more elusive Wladimir next month.
