By Dan Ambrose: Due to the controversy of the New York doctor stopping the fight just when Antonio Margarito was starting to take command of the fight, I think WBA junior middleweight champion Miguel Cotto needs to do the right thing and give Margarito a rematch so the two fighters can settle the matter once and for all. They’ve had two fights now with each guy winning one battle.

Atlas: Cotto is still damaged goods
By Dan Ambrose: Before World Boxing Association (WBA) junior middleweight champion Miguel Cotto (37-2, 30 KO’s) defeated Antonio Margarito earlier this month by a 10th round doctor’s stoppage, EPSN analyst and trainer Teddy Atlas believed that the 31-year old Cotto was damaged goods from the beatings he took in his loss to Margarito in 2008 and his beat down against Manny Pacquiao in 2009.
Smoger: Margarito was turning the fight around on Cotto when it was stopped
By Dan Ambrose: Referee Steve Smoger wished that Antonio Margarito had been allowed to come out for the 10th round in his recent loss to WBA junior middleweight champion Miguel Cotto. Smoger said he wanted to let him, but the ringside doctor stepped in and halted the fight due to Margarito’s rapidly closing right eye.

The former World Boxing Organization (WBO) light welterweight, WBA World – WBO welterweight & current WBA World light middleweight champion has engaged against big names but not the top contenders in his last two fights; is he cashing out? Cotto was on his way to being stopped by Margarito when the fight was halted
By Dan Ambrose: After seeing the Miguel Cotto vs. Antonio Margarito fight last night for the second time, I’m now even more convinced that Cotto was saved by the referee stepping in and halting the fight after the 9th round last week to prevent Cotto from being knocked out for a second time against the tough Mexican warrior Margarito. Cotto doesn’t deserve to move on and fight Manny Pacquiao again or face Floyd Mayweather Jr. for that matter. Cotto deserves Margarito one more time.
What’s next for Margarito?
By John F. McKenna (McJack): Trainer Robert Garcia had no illusions when his fighter former WBA/WBO/IBF welterweight champion Antonio Margarito (38-8, 27 KO’s) took on WBA super light middleweight champion Miguel Cotto (37-2, 30 KO’s) last Saturday night. Garcia knew that Cotto would make adjustments after his humiliating loss to Antonio in July 2008. He also had to know that Margarito is a one dimensional fighter who bores in and applies pressure.
Can Miguel Cotto do the impossible?

Cotto has been criticized by many boxing writers even when he was undefeated and was plowing his way thru the ranks. Many say that Cotto has no heart but he has shown heart on many occasions.
