Deontay Wilder Destroys Arnold

Though Not Headliners, Wilder and Lara Are Worth Our Attention
By Brock Kaiser: It has been said that boxing, perhaps more than any other sport, separates those with the talent and heart to succeed with others whose ability (or lack there of) is based purely on hype, as hype can only take you so far before having to prove it in the ring.
Consider the case of Charles “Kid” McCoy:
In addition to being one of the most controversial and popular figures in boxing history, McCoy is also a member of Boxing’s Hall of Fame.

By Jim Dower: Unbeaten middleweight prospect Daniel Jacobs (16-0, 14 KO’s) will be fighting this Friday night on ESPN’s Friday Night Fights at the Desert Diamond Casino, in Tucson, Arizona. Jacobs, 22, will be facing George Walton (20-3, 12 KO’s) in a 10-round scheduled bout. It will be interesting to see if Jacobs has improved since his last fight, a disappointing eight round unanimous decision over light middleweight Michael Walker on May 2nd on the undercard of Ricky Hatton vs. Manny Pacquiao.

By Jason Kim: Unbeaten middleweight prospect Daniel Jacobs (16-0, 14 KOs) will be returning to the ring on June 26th against George Walton (20-3, 12 KOs) in a 10-round bout at the Desert Diamond Casino, in Tucson, Arizona. Wilder Destroys Rabotte
By Jason Kim: 2008 U.S. Olympic Bronze Medalist Deontay Wilder (4-0, 4 KOs) kept his perfect record of knockouts intact with a 1st round knockout against a badly over-matched Joseph Rabotte (3-6, 1 KOs) in a scheduled four-round bout at the UIC Pavilion, in Chicago, Illinois. The 6’7” Wilder dropped Rabotte three times in the bout, and after the 3rd knockdown – a crushing right hand that left Rabotte collapsed in the corner – the fight was stopped by referee Celestino Ruiz at 2:33 of the round. Wilder, 23, looked very powerful, at least with his right hand.
News – Jacobs vs. Varela this Friday
By Jason Kim: Undefeated super middleweight prospect Daniel Jacobs (14-0, 13 KOs) will be appearing this Friday night on ESPN against Nicaraguan Jose Varela (23-5, 16 KOs) at the UIC Pavilion, in Chicago, Illinois. The bout has mismatch written all over it as Varela, 31, has lost his last three bouts and normally fights two divisions below Jacobs at light middleweight. The only good thing I can think of in this fight is that Varela has a good chin and has been able to stand in there against big punchers like Edison Miranda and Richard Gutierrez without being knocked out. Then again, Varela was knocked out in the 2nd round by Marco Antonio Rubio six years ago in 2003, so it’s hard to tell what will happen with him.
Wilder Stops Cox

Wilder, 23, dropped Cox twice in the 2nd round with big right hands to the head. After the second knockdown, the fight was stopped at 2:54 of the round.
