Skelton said in an interview at frankmaloney.com “Fingers crossed I’m hoping that’s what happens.

How perfect. Price beats one old guy in soon to be 41-year-old Harrison and then turning around and fighting the 45-year-old Skelton.

Skelton will be fighting on the undercard of the Harrison-Price fight against an opponent by the name of Jakov Gospic (11-4, 9 KO’s). It looks like the perfect setup with Skelton showing his stuff beating some unknown fighter and then being angled into fighting the winner of the Harrison vs. Price fight.

I’d like to see Price finally step it up after the Harrison fight, providing that he wins it. You never know Price’s chin is definitely his weakness. If Harrison can land a big left hand early right on the kisser, Price will go. The only question is whether Harrison will freeze under the lights in his big moment and fail to throw even one punch like in his fight with David Haye two years ago. With Harrison anythings possible. He’s utterly unpredictable what he’ll do in the ring.

At 29 and about to turn 30, Price is really, really being brought along slowly for an ex-Olympian. You don’t normally see fighters at Price’s advanced age being brought along as slowly as he is. It just makes me wonder if Frank Maloney knows something that boxing fans don’t know about Price’s ability to take a good punch. If a promoter has confidence in their fighter they don’t keep matching him against soft opposition in the form of 40-year-old fighters.

They want to get on with it and put that fighter in with world class opposition so that they can start to make the good money. But for some reason Price is facing a 40-year-old in Harrison and could be fighting 45-year-old Skelton immediately after that. It’s kind of sad, isn’t it?
