By Tom Drury: A lot has happened during the last six weeks in boxing, as the last year has been wound up and we enter the new one. I wanted to share my opinion on the main topics currently going on in the sport, from Floyd Mayweather’s next opponent to Juan Manuel Marquez and his magic trick. I am going to share my thoughts on several topics in bullet point style, enjoy it or hate it; here are my thoughts on the current affairs of boxing.
1. Austin Trout – two names have been thrown about for Mayweather’s return to the ring on May 4: Saul “Canelo” Alvarez and Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero, while Trout has been totally dismissed. Guerrero has beaten Selcuk Aydin and Andre Berto at welterweight while Canelo has defeated Josesito Lopez and Shane Mosley up at junior-middleweight in his last two fights. Neither fight is terrible nor I would like to see both. However, a fight with Mayweather would be a quantum leap in regards to level of opposition for Alvarez.

I have written numerous articles on Floyd Mayweather Jr. recently, articles based on his boxing resume, defining fights, personality and the great skills he possesses. I have had some fantastic feedback on these articles by boxing fans (not necessarily Mayweather fans) and proof due to the number of comments posted how we as fans like nothing more than a debate on Mayweather’s illustrious career.
By Omar Torres: Manny Pacquiao, Sergio Martinez, Saul Alvarez, Juan Manuel Marquez, hell even Tim Bradley are fighters that are more deserving to get a shot at the P4P king Floyd Mayweather Jr.(43-0) Than Robert Guerrero (35-1-1). Yes, Robert Guerrero beat Andre Berto (31-1-1) & Selcuk Aydin (30-1-1), but other than that Robert has no other elite fighters under his belt.
By Rusty Nate: I know the title alone will probably spawn a long line of posters to start blasting away with comments claiming Floyd is great and won’t ever be beaten by anyone but lets be honest when we discuss it.
By Hector Gonzalez: I see many fans dismissing ‘The Ghost’ Guerrero claiming that he’s a brawler and that he fights dirty. What these comments about Robert Guerrero lead me to believe is that many of these “boxing fans” are unfamiliar with Robert Guerrero’s career and most likely have only seen him fight against Andre Berto, what I would challenge these fans commenting is to observe Guerrero’s career and understand why he is a full technical fighter who quickly adapts in the ring and fights with multidimensional skills.
By Chris Williams: Floyd Mayweather Sr. believes his son Floyd Jr. will be far too intelligent for WBC interim welterweight champion Robert Guerrero (31-1-1, 19 KO’s) to figure out in their fight on May 4th. Floyd Sr. says he sees his fighting Guerrero on this date, and he doesn’t see how he can lose. 
By Chris Williams: WBC interim welterweight champion Robert Guerrero says he’s going to prove boxing fans wrong when he faces Floyd Mayweather Jr. on May 4th on HBO at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. Guerrero points out that few fans believed that he could move up to welterweight and beat the likes of Andre Berto and Selcuk Aydin, and now many of these same fans don’t see Guerrero capable of beating Mayweather Jr.
By Allan Fox: Floyd Mayweather Jr. has had an incredible boxing career with world titles won in five weight classes, and he’s won the titles without catchweights to ease the way. Mayweather has arguably been the best fighter in boxing for the past 10 years without question, but he’s starting to show signs of fading as a fighter. His legs are gone and he’s become more stationary.
By Allan Fox: WBC interim welterweight champion Robert Guerrero (31-1-1, 18 KO’s) says he hasn’t nailed down a deal with unbeaten WBC welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (43-0, 26 KO’s) for May 4th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada, but he’s hoping the fight can get made.

He spends the money just as quick as he earns it according to Bleacherreport.com. This has left Mayweather in a position where he isn’t as wealthy as he would like people to think.
