Not much ‘money’ Mayweather

He spends the money just as quick as he earns it according to Bleacherreport.com. This has left Mayweather in a position where he isn’t as wealthy as he would like people to think.

Mayweather regularly posts pictures on twitter of bets far exceeding $100.000 but doesn’t always win. The fall out between Floyd Mayweather and 50 cent has been well documented but the reason was largely unknown. But recently 50 cent used twitter to explain all. they planned on going into the promotional business together and had managed to sign a string of big names. But Mayweather wouldn’t, or couldn’t, come up with his end of the money. 50 cent said Floyd had got himself into the rut of “fight, get the money, spend the money, fight”

Of course the idea of long term wealth is to build money up, and ideally Mayweather would be smart enough with his money to be able to retire and remain rich for life. This is unlikely to happen when you consider that Floyd has failed to invest much money in anything successful.

This revelation makes me wonder what the future holds for Floyd Mayweather. He has been careful to maintain his unbeaten career. But like so many great fighters, Floyd may be forced to fight past his best for financial gain. These great fighters tarnish their clean record. Floyd still has time. He can earn $40million a fight and $100million if he agrees to face Manny Pacquiao. If he gets rid of the people that only surround him for money, stops big time gambling and starts investing, he will be fine.
