Why is Robert Guerrero getting a shot at Mayweather before more talented and deserving boxers?

guerrero342By Omar Torres: Manny Pacquiao, Sergio Martinez, Saul Alvarez, Juan Manuel Marquez, hell even Tim Bradley are fighters that are more deserving to get a shot at the P4P king Floyd Mayweather Jr.(43-0) Than Robert Guerrero (35-1-1). Yes, Robert Guerrero beat Andre Berto (31-1-1) & Selcuk Aydin (30-1-1), but other than that Robert has no other elite fighters under his belt.

Manny Pacquiao (54-5-2) should’ve got a shot years ago but we all know how that story goes, with both sides pointing fingers at each other on why the match hasn’t happened, but it should’ve happened because Pacquiao was definitely deserving of the fight as he was 1st and 2nd P4P for a while. Sergio Martinez (50-2-2) has been calling out Mayweather for a while now and doesn’t get acknowledged by ‘money May’ at all until recently mentioning that he would like to possibly fight him, but that is just words that mean nothing right now. Sergio is by far one of the most dangerous opponents that can take Floyd’s “0” away.

Sergio is a ring general with a fighting style that Floyd is not used to seeing. Sergio has great defense and with enough offensive power to knock fighters out. Plus Martinez has beaten down bigger guys than him such as Paul Williams, Kelly Pavlik and Chavez Jr. Just to name a few.

I understand that Saul Alvarez (41-0-1) situation is arguable in deserving a fight with Mayweather due to lack of quality opponents, but he has already been mentioned and considered by the money team as a future opponent. Out of Guerrero and Alvarez, Saul is definitely the bigger draw and in my opinion the more dangerous fighter of the two. After Juan Manuel Marquez (55-6-1) beat Manny Pacquiao with that powerful knockout, I thought that he deserves a second crack at Mayweather. Marquez seems to have become a different fighter since the last time they met and I know he will give Floyd a more competitive fight next time around. Marquez is also a better all around fighter than Robert Guerrero and a way bigger draw.

Tim Bradley (29-0) would get destroyed by Mayweather but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t deserve it. Bradley has beaten guys like Lamont Peterson, Devon Alexander, and Manny Pacquiao. Yes, Manny Pacquiao got screwed of a perfect game from the judges like the Tampa Bay Rays Armando Galarraga got screwed of his perfect game by the empire when with the Tigers, and there is no doubt in my mind and in other peoples minds that Pacquiao beat Bradley round per round, but the fact is a win is a win and on top of that Bradley is an undefeated fighter and has more credibility than Guerrero does. So that beings up the question of why is Robert Guerrereo surpassing these more talented and more deserving fighters to take a crack at Floyd Mayweather? Only Floyd Mayweather knows why.
