By Dave Lahr: The German crowd in Cologne, Germany this past weekend were steamed at the ending of the Vitali Klitschko vs. Odlanier Solis, unhappy with the quick 1st round ending when Solis hurt his right leg from a shot to the top of his head. It wasn’t Solis’s fault that the fight ended so quickly. He fought bravely, won majority of the 1st round with his amazing boxing skills, speed, combination punching and movement.

Haye says Solis knew how to beat Vitali, but his obesity stopped him
By William Mackay: WBA heavyweight champion David Haye tipped his hand how he plans on fighting the Klitschkos in his recent comments on his twitter page when he gave his thoughts on why Odlanier Solis (17-1, 12 KO’s) failed in his fight against WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko (42-2, 39 KO’s) in Cologne, Germany. Solis’ right leg blew out after he got hit with a right hand.

Haye slams Solis after his injury loss to Klitschko
By William Mackay: WBA heavyweight champion David Haye (25-1, 23 KO’s) was disgusted with the physical condition that heavyweight challenger Odlanier Solis (17-1, 12 KO’s) was last Saturday night in his 1st round TKO loss to WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko (42-2, 39 KO’s) in Cologne, Germany. Haye, a fighter who prides himself in coming into his fights in the best possible condition, had this to say on his twitter account at looking at how heavy Solis was in the Klitschko fight:
Vitali Klitschko retains WBC title in just 3 minutes
By Rahil Sheikh: WBC king Vitali Klitschko earned a first round stoppage victory over formerly unbeaten Oldanier Solis, in what turned out to be a disappointing Saturday night for the 19,000 packed crowd in Cologne, Germany.
Solis (17-1, 12 KO’s) a 2008 Olympic gold medalist for Cuba, was wobbled at 2 minutes 50 seconds of the first round by what appeared to be a glancing straight right to the temple – but then stumbled down to the canvas and appeared to hurt his right knee.
Vitali’s win over Solis is bitter sweet
By Scott Gilfoid: WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko (42-2, 39 KO’s) may have recorded a 1st round stoppage win over challenger Odlanier Solis (17-1, 12 KO’s) on Saturday night in Germany, but the win failed to really establish that Vitali was the better fighter or who would have won if not for the injury. Solis was winning the fight until the last seconds of the 1st when Solis got hit on the top of his head, lost his balance, and then hurt his right knee in the process. Solis went down from his knee collapsing out from under him, not because he was hit by a hard shot from Vitali. The fight needs to be changed to a no contest because the knockdown was a delayed one where Solis’ knee collapsed while he was backing away. He didn’t look at all hurt.
Wladimir says Haye opted not to fight Vitali because he wants the weaker Klitschko
By William Mackay: IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (55-3, 49 KO’s) was very impressed with his older brother WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko’s 1st round KO win over challenger Odlanier Solis (17-1, 12 KO’s) on Saturday night in Cologne, Germany. Vitali fought patiently for most of the 1st round until landing a hard right hand to the head of Solis, staggering him, causing Solis to injure his knee in the process of falling to the canvas.
