Hunter: Froch’s trainer has no confidence in him thinking for himself

By Scott Gilfoid: Virgil Hunter, the trainer for WBA super middleweight champion Andre Ward, feels that WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch’s trainer Rob McCracken doesn’t have 100% confidence in Froch thinking for himself in the ring. Hunter sees this as a problem, because if Froch can’t think for himself, he’s not going to be able to adapt during the course of a round when Ward starts working him over with angles, speed and different strategies.

By Scott Gilfoid: WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch is going to have to settle for fighting WBA super middleweight champion Andre Ward in the Super Six finals in Atlantic City, New Jersey instead of fighting in Las Vegas, Nevada on October 29th. Froch, 33, had been hoping to fight in Vegas because that was one of his dreams. But with the fight taking place in Atlantic City, Froch is going to have to settle for that. Ward also wanted to fight in Vegas, preferring that venue to Atlantic City.
