Image: Froch too slow to beat WardBy Scott Gifloid: It looks like WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch (28-1, 20 KO’s) is on the verge of getting soundly beaten in the Super Six tournament and sent home to England in defeat when he faces WBA super middleweight champion Andre Ward (24-0, 13 KO’s) in the finals of the Super Six tourney. I studied Froch’s recent fight against Glen Johnson long and hard, and I didn’t like what I saw of Froch. He fought like a tall spider with slow hands, poor foot work and even worse defense.

Image: Froch: I will display my gloves on my wall after I beat WardBy Scott Gilfoid: WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch (28-1, 20 KO’s) struggled hard to beat 42-year-old Glen Johnson (51-15-2, 35 KO’s) last weekend in their Super Six tournament semifinals bout at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey. After eating right hands from Johnson all night long, Froch was able to win a 12 round majority decision. The win puts Froch in the finals of the Super Six tournament against the fighter pretty much destined to win the whole ball of wax WBA super middleweight champion Andre Ward (24-0, 13 KO’s).

Image: Super Six: How will the final pan out?By Mark Young: Andre Ward did the business and beat Arthur Abraham, Carl Froch delivered the goods and beat Glen Johnson and now both the winners enter the Super Six final. The tournament didn’t quite pan out as initially planned but two of the original entrants made the final and the final looks very interesting.
