By Allen Hmiel: Intangibles? Motive and determination. The will to win. Has the birth of Rocco Froch, Carl’s baby boy finally given the British ‘Cobra” the drive and determination to maximize his many boxing talents? Since Carl has become a new father it seems he has found a new direction and meaning for his boxing career. There seems to be a sense of maturity and purpose in the British Champion at Super Middleweight that was missing before. Carl has something to prove now that he is a father and that is to be the best fighter at 168 pounds in the world and no one will stop him of that goal.

Will Froch retire if he loses to Glen Johnson?

By Scott Gilfoid: Before his last fight against Arthur Abraham in November 2010, Carl Froch (27-1, 20 KO’s) was belly aching about possibly retiring if he were to lose the fight. Froch’s thoughts were that if he couldn’t compete at the highest level he didn’t want to continue fighting.

Glen Johnson won’t have any problems finding Froch in the ring

By Scott Gilfoid: 41-year-old Glen Johnson (51-14-2, 35 KO’s) is going to find it relatively easy to locate WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch (27-1, 20 KO’s) in the ring when they fight next in their Super Six tournament fight in April or May. Froch, 33, won’t be astute enough to realize that you can’t beat a guy like Johnson on the inside because Johnson is a much stronger fighter in close compared to Froch. If you look Froch’s fights, he really has no inside game.

Froch doesn’t have the tools to beat Glen Johnson

Image: Froch doesn't have the tools to beat Glen JohnsonBy Scott Gilfoid: WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch (27-1, 20 KO’s) is floating on clouds since beating over-trained Arthur Abraham in his last Super Six tournament fight in November. Before the fight, Froch was talking dooms day scenario where he would retire if he lost the fight, but now that he’s won the fight, it’s as if he’s suddenly invincible in the minds of his loyal boxing fans. I hate to drizzle all over Froch’s parade but he’s about to get his backside royally handed to him by 41-year-old Glen Johnson in their next Super Six tournament fight in April or May of next year.

Haye thinks he, Froch and Khan will unify titles in 2011

Image: Haye thinks he, Froch and Khan will unify titles in 2011By Scott Gilfoid: It’s sad when fighters have hopeless pipe dreams that have basically zero chance of ever happening in this lifetime. WBA heavyweight champion David Haye is a classic case of one of those pipe dream wishing fighters with his latest dream of himself, Amir Khan and Carl Froch all unifying titles in 2011. I hate to break this to Haye, but that dream is not going to materialize into reality. My grand vision for those three is for all of them to suffer brutal knockout losses in 2011 and come back to the UK without their titles, licking their wounds and hurt feelings.

Fighters that will lose in 2011: Haye, Khan and Froch

Image: Fighters that will lose in 2011: Haye, Khan and FrochBy Scott Gilfoid: I have bad news for British boxing fans. Some of their biggest heros, Amir Khan, Carl Froch and David Haye, are very likely going to lose in 2011 and take major beatings in the process. It’s part of boxing for a fighters to get whipped but these guys are long overdue. Khan already almost got taken apart recently in his fight with Marcos Maidana. I called it a draw and I don’t think Khan proved a thing in that fight other than he still has a glass jaw. He’ll get destroyed by Timothy Bradley or Devon Alexander. Maidana and Breidis Prescott would cremate Khan if given a rematch. They won’t get one, of course.
