By Allen Hmiel: Intangibles? Motive and determination. The will to win. Has the birth of Rocco Froch, Carl’s baby boy finally given the British ‘Cobra” the drive and determination to maximize his many boxing talents? Since Carl has become a new father it seems he has found a new direction and meaning for his boxing career. There seems to be a sense of maturity and purpose in the British Champion at Super Middleweight that was missing before. Carl has something to prove now that he is a father and that is to be the best fighter at 168 pounds in the world and no one will stop him of that goal.

The close fight with hometown favored Kessler, which many felt Carl won and the lopsided beat down shutout victory over the out matched gun-shy crown-less King Arthur has shown a new Carl Froch. We now see a world class fighter purposely driven more focused and extremely dedicated to boxing.

Carl seems to be a changed man since his son has arrived and he has accepted the role of father, provider and protector very well. The pride of parenthood shows in his demeanor and how proud he is of his new role. Yes Froch has that inner drive now and the sense of purpose to become the best fighter in the world. That hidden intangible fatherhood seems to be driving Carl to maximize his training and his focus to win and become the best. Froch will beat Glen Johnson and go on to face Ward for the finals hopefully in England where he can get a fair fight.

Daddy Froch, now wearing the new hat of fatherhood along with the hats of world champion and being Britain’s best fighter have given Carl the direction, drive and motivation to continue on his quest to maximize his potential and boxing abilities. Yes we are seeing a new Carl Froch a changed man a more mature and focused fighter with a goal and a purpose to become the best father in the world alongside of being the best fighter in the world. A driven man proud and determined is hard to beat which Froch’s opponents will soon find out. Abraham did!
