Warren believes that those attributes will be enough for Froch tow in and make it into the finals of the Super Six tournament, where Warren sees Froch likely facing American Andre Ward.

In his column at thesun.com.uk,, Warren said “He [Froch] should make the Super Six final because he’ll be too strong and too young for Glen Johnson in the semis. His likely opponent will be Andre Ward.”

I usually agree with a lot of what Warren says, but not in this case. I see Johnson spanking Froch and making him look like a hopeless amateiur in the process. Johnson is a big puncher himself and that’s what he’s known for. That and his ability to take heavy shots and throw a lot of punches. He’s going to be all over Froch from the word go, forcing Froch to work harder than he’s ever been forced to before. Some people are under the impression that Froch has good stamina and can fight hard for 12 rounds.

I think that Froch’s stamina is questionable when an opponent is pushing the fight the way that Mikkel Kessler did against Froch in their stage 2 Super Six tournament fight last year in April. If you watch that fight, you’ll notice how quickly Froch wore down under the pressure. By the midpoint of the fight, Froch looked like he had run a marathon. He looked exhausted. Johnson is going to be putting much more pressure on Froch than that, believe me. And Johnson has a longer reach than Froch, so this isn’t going to be a repeat of Froch beating up on the smaller, shorter-armed, over-trained Arthur Abraham like Froch did in his last fight. Johnson is going to be hitting Froch at will with his longer arms and overwhelming him with punches.

I expect Froch to go into his turtle shell by the 10th round and just covering up while Johnson unloads nonstop artillery on him. Heck, we might even see a stoppage if Froch fails to throw something back during one of Johnson’s prolonged bombardments.
