By Scott Gilfoid: Photo credit Leopoldo Gonzalez – It’s sad to see how excited Matthew Hatton (41-4-2, 16 KO’s) is about his fight this Saturday with unbeaten Saul Alvarez (35-0-1, 26 KO’s) at the Honda Center, in Anaheim, California. Hatton, 29, is as happy as a puppy with this fight, and he thinks he’s going to win it. I don’t know of anyone that sees Hatton winning the fight and as far as I can tell, Hatton has been brought in as fodder for Alvarez.

WBC title at stake: Is it Alvarez or Hatton’s fault?
By Gerardo Granados: Photo credit Leopoldo Gonzalez – Since the Alvarez vs. Hatton fight was switched from originally disputing the WBC silver light welterweight title to dispute the vacant WBC light middleweight belt most of boxing writers and fans are too critical about this decision. Lets start by clearing that neither Alvarez or Hatton are responsible of the decisions that their promoters make, so it is not fair to blame “Canelo” or “Magic.”
Matthew Hatton not worried about Alvarez being the crowd favorite on Saturday
By William Mackay: 29-year-old Matthew Hatton is trying his best to ignore being a huge underdog against Saul Alvarez on Saturday night at the Honda Center, in Anaheim, California. More than that, Alvarez will also be a huge crowd favorite in this fight, as Alvarez will have a lot of his Mexican fans coming to see him fight.
Matthew Hatton may pull out of Alvarez fight if Saul comes in over 150 lbs
By Sean McDaniel: EBU welterweight champion Matthew Hatton (41-4-2, 16 KO’s) may end up pulling out of this Saturday’s fight with unbeaten Mexican Saul Alvarez (35-0-1, 26 KO’s) if Alvarez comes in over the 150 pound catchweight that was agreed upon for the fight. It’s kind of silly that Hatton was allowed to be given the catchweight agreement or the fight for that matter, because he’s un-ranked in the junior middleweight division and this fight will be for the vacant WBC light middleweight title.
Matthew Hatton says Alvarez hasn’t had to dig deep in fights
By Eric Thomas: Photo credit Leopoldo Gonzalez – EBU welterweight champion Matthew Hatton (41-4-2, 16 KO’s) questions the experience of unbeaten Saul Alvarez (35-0-1, 26 KO’s) going into their fight this Saturday night at the Honda Center, in Anaheim, California. Hatton, 29, doesn’t believe that the 20-year-old Alvarez has had to battle hard when a fight is on the line to pull out a win like he has.
Alvarez faces welterweight Hatton on Saturday for WBC junior middleweight title
By Scott Gilfoid: For some reason, EBU welterweight champion Matthew Hatton (41-4-2, 16 KO’s) is being allowed to fight for the vacant WBC junior middleweight title on Saturday night against #1 WBC contender Saul Alvarez (35-0-1, 26 KO’s) at the Honda Center, in Anaheim, California. How the 29-year-old Hatton has gotten the shot is beyond me. Why is Hatton, a mere EBU welterweight champ, allowed to fight for the vacant WBC title when he’s never fought at junior middleweight in his life? That just seems so wrong.
Hatton: I hope everyone doesn’t get too upset when I beat Alvarez
By Sean McDaniel: If nothing else, Matthew Hatton (41-4-2, 16 KO’s) is confident about his chances of beating undefeated Mexican slugger Saul Alvarez (35-0-1, 26 KO’s) this Saturday night at the Honda Center, in Anaheim, California. Hatton, 29, is a huge underdog in this fight despite being nine years older than the 20-year-old Alvarez. But in this case, Hatton’s age is meaningless because Alvarez can punch like a mule with either hand and Hatton doesn’t have the armament to trade with Alvarez for long.
Matthew Hatton says winning a world title against Saul Alvarez will get him respect
By William Mackay: EBU welterweight champion Matthew Hatton (41-4-1, 16 KO’s) figures that he’ll be able to earn a lot of respect if he can beat undefeated Saul Alvarez (35-0-1, 26 KO’s) if Hatton can beat the Mexican on March 5th and capture the vacant WBC junior middleweight title at the Honda Center, in Anaheim, California.
Alvarez vs. Hatton: Don’t blink your eyes because you might miss the fight
By Scott Gilfoid: If you want to see a really big mismatch tune in for the March 5th fight between undefeated Saul Alvarez (35-0-1, 26 KO’s) as he battles one of Britain’s finest in Matthew Hatton (41-4-2, 16 KO’s) for the vacant WBC junior middleweight title at the Honda Center, in Anaheim, California. This is going to be a slaughter of the first order and don’t plan on seeing Hatton with his hand raised at the end of this one.
Shaw wants Angulo to get fight with Alvarez after he whips Hatton on 3/5
By William Mackay: Promoter Gary Shaw has no doubts that unbeaten #1 ranked WBC junior middleweight contender Saul Alvarez (35-0-1, 26 KO’s) will beat the light-hitting EBU welterweight champion Matthew Hatton (41-4-2, 16 KO’s) on March 5th at the Honda Center, in Anaheim, California. Shaw, who promotes #2 WBC contender Alfredo Angulo (19-1, 16 KO’s), wants the World Boxing Council to give Angulo an immediate shot at the WBC title against Alvarez after Alvarez does away with Hatton, according to fightnews.com.
