(Photo credit: David Infante @787Films/Team Dulorme) By Allan Fox: Former light welterweight world title challenger Thomas Dulorme (22-2, 14 KOs) will be returning to the ring this Saturday night on June 18 in facing 28-year-old journeyman Jesus Gurrola (22-8-3, 10 KOs) in an eight-round bout at the Pabellón de la Feria, Albacete, Castilla-La Mancha, Spain. Dulorme will be moving back up to 147 for this fight. Dulorme previously fought at welterweight until getting knocked out by Luis Carlos Abregu in October 2012.

Dulorme, 26, hasn’t fought since being stopped in the 6th round by Terence Crawford last year in April 2015 in a failed attempt to win the vacant WBO light welterweight title in Arlington, Texas. Dulorme gave Crawford problems in rounds one through five. However, things fell apart for Dulorme in round six, when Crawford knocked him down three times in the process of knocking him out. That loss for Dulorme had to be a bitter pill for him to swallow because he had won his previous six fights after having been stopped in the 7th round by Argentinian slugger Abregu.

Viloria: Roman Gonzalez hasn’t fought anyone with my power

YouTube video

By Dan Ambrose: Former two division world champion Brian Viloria (36-4, 22 KOs) has been busy studying the past fights of WBC flyweight champion Roman Gonzalez (43-0, 37 KOs) in preparation for their October 17th fight on HBO pay-per-view from Madison Square Garden in New York.

Viloria, 34, has seen enough of the 28-year-old Gonzalez’s past fights to make him believe that he’s got enough in the tank to defeat him. Viloria believes that his punching power is greater than anything that Gonzalez has ever seen before.

Terence “Bud” Crawford: Flirting with Greatness!

crawford67884By Sean Ness: Boxing is a sport that intrigues me. It gets the juices flowing and lights a fire in my belly. I find myself throwing punches at fresh air and even shouting at my TV when the rest of my family are trying to get to sleep. Every single ill thought and life’s problems absolutely leave my head. I am wholeheartedly happy and this morning (UK time) was no different.

I once again settled in and got ready for a roller coaster of action packed boxing. There was no alcohol involved just me, a coke and the sound of boxing from my TV filling my living room.

Arum: Crawford-Dulorme winner could face Matthysse-Provodnikov winner

matthysse09By Dan Ambrose: Top Rank promoter Bob Arum is saying that the winner of this Saturday’s two fights between former WBO lightweight champion Terence Crawford (25-0, 17 KOs) vs. Thomas Dulorme (22-1, 14 KOs) and Lucas Matthysse (36-3, 34 KOs) vs. Ruslan Provodnikov (24-3, 17 KOs) could face each other. Both fights will be televised on HBO Championship Boxing as a split site double-header this Saturday night.

Crawford and Dulorme will be fighting for the vacant WBO 140 pound title at the University of Texas, in Arlington, Texas, USA. The Matthysse-Provodnikov fight will be taking place at the Turning Stone Resort & Casino, in Verona, New York, USA. Both fights will be 12 rounds.

There’s been a bit of controversy surrounding the news that Crawford-Dulorme will be fighting for the vacant WBO 140 pound title because the World Boxing Organization immediately elevated Crawford to the No.1 spot in the WBO’s 140 pound rankings recently after Crawford vacated his WBO 135 pound title. Crawford didn’t have to face anyone at 140 in order to pick up rank to get into position to fight for the vacant WBO light welterweight title.

Terence Crawford faces Thomas Dulorme on April 18th for vacant WBO 140lb title

crawford3By Dan Ambrose: The World Boxing Organization is giving WBO lightweight champ Terence Crawford (25-0, 17 KOs) a huge gift in letting him fight the badly flawed #3 WBC, #5 WBO Thomas Dulorme (22-1, 14 KOs) on April; 18th for the vacant WBO light welterweight title at the University of Texas at Arlington’s College Park Center outside Dallas, Texas.

It’s a huge gift, because Crawford should have to face Lucas Matthysse or Ruslan Provodnikov for the vacant WBO title, not Dulorme. You can make an argument that the Matthysse-Provodnikov fight should be for the vacant WBO 140lb title, with the winner then facing former WBO champion Chris Algieri.

Dulorme decisions Lundy; Centeno Jr destroys De La Rosa

dulorme777By Allan Fox: #2 WBA, #4 WBC, #4 IBF, #5 WBO light welterweight contender Thomas Dulorme (22-1, 14 KOs) proved little last Saturday night in beating #6 IBF Hank Lundy (25-4-1, 12 KOs) by an unimpressive 10 round split decision on the undercard of the Gabriel Rosado vs. David Lemieux fight at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

The final judges’ scores were 96-93, 97-92 for Dulorme, and 96-93 for Lundy. Dulorme was running and holding from the 6th round on, and it’s difficult to make an argument that he deserve the victory. He looked as bad in this fight as he did in getting stopped by Luis Carlos Abregu in 2012.

The bout was televised on HBO BOXING AFTER DARK® as part of a triple header headlined by Lemieux vs. Rosado.

Dulorme started off strong landing a powerful right hand on Lundy’s temple, putting him down in round one. The momentum carried over into the middle rounds as Lundy had no answers for Dulorme’s powerful right hands. In round six, Lundy came out strong and landed some nice power shots to help him get back in the fight. Both fighters were giving it their all and Dulorme had to dig deep to keep Lundy at his distance. Entering the final rounds Lundy was swinging for the fences.
