Arum says Pacquiao could face Crawford, Khan or Brook next

Manny PacquiaoBy Scott Gilfoid: Top Rank promoter Bob Arum has listed the three opponents he’ll be making his decision about in picking out his fighter Manny Pacquiao’s next opponent for his fight in February or March or 2016. The list consists of these three names: Terence Crawford, Amir Khan and Kell Brook.

Whether Pacquiao fights any of those guys will be determined on if his shoulder heals up properly by next year. Pacquiao is still doing rehab right now, and it remains to be seen whether he’ll be able to return to the ring in early 2016 like Arum wants him to.

Terence Crawford vs. Dierry Jean a done deal for October 24th on HBO in Omaha, Nebraska

crawford8888By Chris Williams: Newly crowned WBO light welterweight champion Terence Crawford (26-0, 18 KOs) has a mismatch scheduled against 33-year-old Dierry Jean (29-1, 20 KOs) on October 24th in Omaha, Nebraska on HBO Championship Boxing.

It’s not a good match-up because the little 5’6” Dierry Jean isn’t even ranked in the top 15 by the World Boxing Organization. He’s ranked at 135 at #8 IBF, #11 WBO, but not in the 140lb division, which is where Crawford will be making his defense of his WBO light welterweight title.

Terence Crawford with chance for Pacquiao fight in February or March 2016

crawford7By Chris Williams: Top Rank promoter Bob Arum has talking up a possible fight between his star Manny Pacquiao (57-6-2, 38 KOs) and former IBF/WBA 140lb champion Amir Khan (31-3, 19 KOs), but it looks like that’s not a match-up that’s going to happen. WBO light welterweight champion Terence Crawford’s trainer Brian McIntyre is saying that Crawford (26-0, 18 KOs) is the one who could wind up being the one that faces Pacquiao in February or March of 2016 rather than Khan.

“Yeah, how about this for signature fight, Woods? Manny Pacquiao in March or April,” McIntyre told RingTV.com.

Terence Crawford still looking for an opponent for next fight

crawford67884By Dan Ambrose: WBO light welterweight champion Terence Crawford (26-0, 18 KOs) is reportedly looking for an opponent for his next fight on either October 24th or November 7th in Omaha, Nebraska.

The options for Crawford are currently down to these fighters: Dierry Jean, Mauricio Herrera, Cesar Cuenca, or Antonio Orozco, according to Dan Rafael. Herrera would seem to be the least likely of the three to get the fight because he recently suffered two bad cuts in his victory over Hank Lundy. Those cuts likely won’t be healed properly by October or November when Crawford will be fighting next.

Arum will match Pacquiao against Terence Crawford next if Mayweather doesn’t want rematch

crawford8888By Chris Williams: Manny Pacquiao’s promoter Bob Arum of Top Rank says that he’ll look to match the 36-year-old Pacquiao up against his Top Rank stable fighter WBO light welterweight champion Terence Crawford (26-0, 18 KOs) next if Floyd Mayweather Jr. decides that he doesn’t want to do a rematch with Pacquiao.

Arum wants the Mayweather-Pacquiao rematch above all, as he feels there’s still a lot more money that can be mined from that fight than any other fights that he can setup for the soon to be 37-year-old Pacquiao. However, with the way that Arum is calling the win indecisive, saying that he thought Pacquiao deserved the win 7 rounds to 5, it’s unlikely that Mayweather will bother fighting Pacquiao again.

Cloudy future for the 140lb division

broner123By Gav Duthie: We recently welcomed a new undefeated champion to the Jnr Welterweight division in Terrence Crawford. The American moved up in weight because he didn’t feel there were enough fights or financial reward in the lightweight class but in my opinion the 140lb division could be going the same way. There has always been a temptation in the last few years for light welterweight fighters to chase the likes of Floyd “Money” Mayweather Jr. and now that he and Manny Pacquiao are fighting we are now looking towards a new 147lb king.

The recent clash between Danny ‘Swift’ Garcia and Lamont Peterson at a catch-weight of 143lbs as well as other movements have caused me to question the immediate future of the 140lb division as a top weight class.

Is Terence Crawford pushed to be the next Big Cash Cow?

crawford6By Gerardo Granados: The reader must know who Terence Crawford is but are casual fans acquainted with him or is it that he is only known by boxing purists? He was awarded by the BWAA and ESPN the 2014 fighter of the year award, but I disagree with the election, just as Boxingnews24 and The Ring Magazine elected Sergey Kovalev instead.

Have you ever seen a fighter brought to stardom by carefully matchmaking him and then see him lose once out of the protection of the promoter who created him? I´m not saying this is the case but I bet the reader can recall a recent example of a great boxer mirage for sure.

Is Terence Crawford the next P4P Star?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iCgNkfVQUGs
By Wilmar Patino (Boxing’s Finest): Now that Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Manny Pacquiao is days away lets take time to talk about the future of the sport post Mayweather and Pacquiao. There are a few names that come to mind when we think about the future of Boxing, but to me Terence Crawford seems to be the most promising. For one, he’s only 27 years old and backed by Top Rank and HBO.

Terence “Bud” Crawford: Flirting with Greatness!

crawford67884By Sean Ness: Boxing is a sport that intrigues me. It gets the juices flowing and lights a fire in my belly. I find myself throwing punches at fresh air and even shouting at my TV when the rest of my family are trying to get to sleep. Every single ill thought and life’s problems absolutely leave my head. I am wholeheartedly happy and this morning (UK time) was no different.

I once again settled in and got ready for a roller coaster of action packed boxing. There was no alcohol involved just me, a coke and the sound of boxing from my TV filling my living room.
