Paul McCloskey
McCloskey: I thought I could have fought on against Corley
McCloskey shocked by Corley
By Collie Moore: DeMarcus Corley defied bookmakers odds to beat Paul McCloskey in Belfast on Saturday night in a strange and somewhat controversial stoppage. The veteran looked dangerous throughout and McCloskey was badly wobbled towards the end of the 10th round by a crisp right hand which prompted referee Ian John Lewis to jump between fighters.
Corley stops McCloskey in 10th round!
By Scott Gilfoid: As I predicted earlier in the day, the power punching southpaw DeMarcus Corley (39-19-1, 23 KO’s) was simply too much for Ireland’s Paul McCloskey (23-2, 12 KO’s), busting up his nose early and knocking him out in the 10th round on Saturday night at the Kings Hall, Belfast, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom. I hate to gloat, but I told you what was going to happen, didn’t I?
McCloskey vs. Corley tonight: Paul will be tasting the canvas
Corley: I’m coming straight at McCloskey like a locomotive; he’s going down
Corley battles McCloskey on Saturday
By Scott Gilfoid: I sure hope DeMarcus Corley (38-19-1, 22 KO’s) plans on shooting for a KO on Saturday night against Paul McCloskey (23-1, 12 KO’s) because it may be the only way the guy will escape with a win. The fight will be taking place in McCloskey’s home city at the Kings Hall in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
Corley-McCloskey: “I’m hitting real hard” – DeMarcus
By William Mackay: Irish light welterweight Paul McCloskey (23-1, 12 KO’s) may be in big trouble as he goes into this Saturday’s fight against the hard hitting journeyman/contender DeMarcus Corley (38-19-1, 22 KO’s) in a 12 round bout at the Kings Hall, Belfast, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom.
Corley will probably have to KO Paul McCloskey to get the victory
By Scott Gilfoid: I already feel sorry for DeMarcus Corley (38-19-1, 22 KO’s) ahead of his bout this Saturday against Ireland’s Paul McCloskey (23-1, 12 KO’s) at the King’s Hall in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Corley, 37, will be the visiting fighter and McCloskey, 32, will be fighting at home where a huge amount of his Irish fans will be there to give McCloskey all the support he needs.
McCloskey hoping to get Marquez fight, but must beat Corley first on May 5th
By William Mackay: The judges giving junior welterweight champion Paul McCloskey (23-1, 12 KO’s) a gift 12 round decision over Breidis Prescott last September in McCloskey’s home city of Belfast, Northern Ireland seems to have done more harm than good, as the fight was so one-sided in Prescott’s favor that there has been precious few nibbles from big name light welterweights to want to travel to Belfast and find themselves potentially same boat as Prescott.
