By Scott Gilfoid: I can’t say I was very impressed with EBU light welterweight champion Paul McCloskey’s 11th round TKO against Italian Giuseppe Lauri on Friday night at the Kings Hall, in Belfast, Northern Ireland. McCloskey, 30, showed little hand speed, power or ring movement. He looked tired by the 8th round, and had nothing on his shots.

Sexton stops Rogan, McCloskey defeats Rasilla – Boxing Results
By William Mackay: Heavyweight Commonwealth champion Sam Sexton (13-1, 6 KO’s) defeated former Commonwealth champion Martin Rogan (12-2, 6 KO’s) on Friday night with a retirement at the end of the 6th round at the Odyssey Arena, in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Rogan, 38, looked old and tired at the end of the 6th round, after taking an enormous amount of punishment to the head during the round.
Appleby Defeats Martin, McCloskey Smashes Harrison
By Nate Anderson: BBBofC British featherweight champion Paul Appleby (14-0, 9 KOs) destroyed Juan Garcia Martin (15-7, 8 KOs) in the 1st round on Saturday night at the Kingsway Leisure Centre, Widnes, Cheshire. Appleby, 21, hurt Martin with a hard right hand late in the round and then poured on a flurry of shots as Martin tried to cover up against the ropes.
