Linares, 23, looked far from impressive in most of the rounds throwing few punches and getting outworked by the 25-year-old Perez.

The win enabled Linares, the former World Boxing Council featherweight champion, to capture the vacant WBA super featherweight title, which had previously been vacated by former champion In November.
