By Dan Ambrose: Rather than giving Marcos Maidana (29-2, 27 KO’s) a rematch after winning a close 12 round decisions last weekend in Las Vegas, WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan (24-1, 17 KO’s) plans on moving on to face a still unnamed opponent in March or April next year. Khan wants to fight the winner of the Devon Alexander vs. Timothy Bradley bout sometime next year, and he sees that as a top priority.

Amir Khan vs. Marcos Maidana – Reaction to Saturday’s battle
By Jon Neale: About a week ago I wrote an article on this website titled ‘Amir Khan – Glass Jaw? Actually NO… and here’s why’. In this article I made some observations (some based on fact some based on opinion) about why Amir Khan would not buckle under the inevitable pressure and vicious punching power of the tremendous Marcos Maidana.
The night Amir Khan came of age
By Stuart O’Malley: Last Saturday, December 11th, saw WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan (24-1, 7 KO’s) quiet his doubters and prove to the world that indeed he is a true champion by defeating knockout puncher Marcos Maidana (29-2, 27 KO’s) by a 12 round unanimous decision at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Judah says Khan fight almost done
By Dan Ambrose: Light welterweight contender Zab Judah (40-6, 27 KO’s) is saying that a fight with WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan is almost done on his twitter page. Judah, 33, said this on his twitter page: “Fights almost done. Judah vs. Khan!!! USA or UK?”
It remains to be seen if Golden Boy Promotions will actually match their fighter Khan with Judah, because it’s a dangerous fight for Khan because Judah is a southpaw, his excellent speed and can punch a little. Judah looked horrible in his recent fight against Argentinian knockout artist Lucas Matthysse, winning a controversial 12 round split decision last month on November 6th.

By Sean McDaniel: Frank Warren, the former promoter for WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan (24-1, 17 KO’s), doesn’t think Khan is ready to move up in weight and take on unbeaten Floyd Mayweather Jr. in the near future. Khan and his trainer Freddie Roach have been talking endlessly about wanting a fight against Mayweather next year, feeling as if they can beat him for some reason.

By Sean McDaniel: For boxing fans hoping to see WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan (24-1, 17 KO’s) finally fight a rematch with Colombian knockout artist Breidis Prescott (23-2, 19 KO’s), they may be in luck. Oscar De La Hoya, of Golden Boy Promotions, says a fight between his fighter Khan and Prescott is a possibility for Khan’s next fight in 2011 in the UK.
Khan looks shaky in beating Maidana
By Daniel Tagg: WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan deserves credit for his recent win over challenger Marcos Maidana but I’m not sure how much. Khan started the fight not to badly, he then hurt Maidana with two body shots in the 1st which seemed a bit lucky as Khan’s punches shouldn’t have hurt Maidana’s body. Khan did okay for the next two rounds showing his speed and movement, his punches still lack any kind of power and Maidana landed some glancing blows that showed little affect.
Amir ‘King’ Khan vs. Marcos ‘El Chino’ Maidana: Fight of the Year 2010!
By Ramzan Ullah: First of all, I want to say what a great fight on Saturday in the capital of boxing. Sin City1 at the Mandalay Bay, without a doubt in my opinion Fight of the Year. WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan did very well to win the fight defeating Marcos Maidana and came through some tough times, even thought many refs would have stopped the fight in the 10th round.
Khan says Maidana never hurt him
By Scott Gilfoid: In the latest boxing news, WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan (24-1, 17 KO’s) is in a state of denial about being hurt by Marcos Maidana (29-2, 27 KO’s) last Saturday night. Khan won the fight by a 12 round unanimous decision but was staggered twice in the 10th round of the fight and took tremendous punishment in the final three rounds of the fight without stop.
