Kessler-Green: Mikkel may not have enough left to beat Allan

Image: Kessler-Green: Mikkel may not have enough left to beat AllanBy Scott Gilfoid: This is American Allan Green’s big opportunity to pull off a major upset against WBC super middleweight champion Mikkel Kessler (43-2, 32 KO’s) on September 25th, in their stage 3 part of the Super Six tournament at the MCH Multiarena in Herning, Denmark. Green, 30, was beaten in his last fight against Andre Ward in his first fight of the Super Six tournament. That was a rude greeting for the blistering fast Green, but he’s going to learn from that defeat and fix the mistakes that he made in that fight.

Green has the talent to beat Kessler

Image: Green has the talent to beat KesslerBy Scott Gilfoid: I think we may see another Pascal moment on September 25th when American Allan Green (29-2, 20 KO’s), a huge underdog, marches into the MCH Multiarena, in Herning, Denmark, and takes out the home star WBC super middleweight champion Mikkel Kessler (43-2, 32 KO’s) in shocking fashion in their Super Six tournament stage 3 fight. It won’t be the first time that Kessler got schooled in the tournament by an American. Kessler already got thrashed by the talented Andre Ward last November, and he’s probably still have nightmares about that brutal beating that Ward gave him.

Kessler vs. Green: Can Mikkel get out of this fight without taking a lot of punishment?

By Dan Ambrose: At one time in his career, Mikkel Kessler was able to dominate his opponents without suffering so much as a scratch. Now, however, Kessler is taking punishment even when not fighting the absolute best in the super middleweight division. But the 31-year-old Kessler has really began to take a lot of vicious punishment since he started fighting in the Super Six tournament, where in two of his fights against Andre Ward and Carl Froch, Kessler has taken a lot of hard shots and ended up black and blue afterwards.

Kessler-Green: Mikkel can’t overlook Allan and expect to win

Image: Kessler-Green: Mikkel can't overlook Allan and expect to winBy Jim Dower: World Boxing Council super middleweight champion Mikkel Kessler (43-2, 32 KO’s) could end up making a fatal mistake and overlook his next Super Six tournament opponent American Allan Green (29-2, 20 KO’s) and figure him for an easy mark in their upcoming September 25th Super Six tournament fight at the MCH Multiarena, in Herning, Denmark. It will be easy to look bad the 30-year-old Green, because he looked less than impressive in losing by a lopsided 12 round unanimous decision loss to WBA super middleweight champion Andre Ward in his last fight on June 19th in the Super Six tournament. Right now, Kessler is still happy with his win over former WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch in his last fight on April 24th, and could see the Green fight as a huge step down form that grueling bout. However, Green hits every bit as hard as Froch, and is a lot faster him in terms of hand speed.

Kessler-Green: Does Allan have the better overall boxing skills compared to Mikkel?

Image: Kessler-Green: Does Allan have the better overall boxing skills compared to Mikkel?By Jim Slattengren: Say what you want about Allan Green (29-2, 20 KO’s) getting pretty much dominated and mugged in his first fight in the Super Six tournament last June by World Boxing Association (WBA) super middleweight champion Andre Ward, I think Green, 30 has the better overall boxing ability compared to his next opponent in the Super Six tourney WBC super middleweight champion Mikkel Kessler (43-2, 32 KO’s), whom he fights on September 25th at the MCH Multiarena, in Herning, Denmark. Whether Green can use his superior skills is another thing altogether. But I see Green as having the better skills in almost department on offense. Green’s got the better overhand right, left hook, jab and uppercut compared to Kessler. Green also has the better hand speed by far.

Kessler vs. Green to take place in Herning, Denmark – News

Image: Kessler vs. Green to take place in Herning, Denmark – NewsBy William Mackay: If Allan Green (29-2, 20 KO’s) didn’t have enough problems with his next match-up against World Boxing Council super middleweight champion Mikkel Kessler (43-2, 32 KO’s) on September 25th, Green will now have to travel to fight Kessler in his home country of Denmark for their stage 3 Super Six bout. Green didn’t need this bad news, as he’s already in a do or die situation because he lost his first bout in the Super Six tournament to Andre Ward last June and has zero points going into the fight with Kessler.

Kessler vs. Green: Allan thinks he’ll stop Mikkel – News

Image: Kessler vs. Green: Allan thinks he’ll stop Mikkel - NewsBy Jason Kim: Despite losing by as one-sided of a fight that you’ll ever see, super middleweight contender Allan Green (29-2, 20 KO’s) thinks he’ll stop World Boxing Council super middleweight champion Mikkel Kessler (43-2, 32 KO’s) on September 25th, in Denmark. Green, who will be turning 31 on September 20th, doesn’t have the slightest problems fighting in Kessler’s home country and sees the previous Super Six home fighters’ victories as nothing more than a ‘Coincidence.” In an article at thisisnottingham.co.uk, Green says “I don’t see Kessler lasting the whole fight, unless he brings something new to the table.”

Predicting the Rest of the Super Six: Dirrell-Ward, Froch-Abraham, Kessler-Green

Image: Predicting the Rest of the Super Six: Dirrell-Ward, Froch-Abraham, Kessler-GreenBy Joseph Hirsch: The first two rounds of the Showtime Super Six World Boxing Classic are already in the books. There have been knockouts, controversial decisions, and upsets, but there is still no clear favorite. Going into the third and final round, it really is any man’s game. The next three fights to take place will determine who will advance to the semi-finals. Before that, though, it might be appropriate to pick who will win the next fights, and by what method.

Andre Dirrell vs. Andre Ward: Both of these fighters are incredibly talented, and they have been friends ever since they were amateurs. Ward has a slightly better Olympic pedigree, and he is the only fighter thus far to win both of his matches in the tournament.
