Green has zero points in the Super Six tournament and has his back against the wall so to speak needing a win to have any chance of moving on to the semifinals of the tournament. It may require a knockout for Green to get to the next level. The good news is that Green has the power to do it, if he just lets his hands go.

In his loss to Ward, Green looked tentative, unsure of himself and didn’t seem to know what to do to deal with Ward’s smothering inside attack. Green, not much of an inside fighter, chose to play Ward’s game by wrestling with him in close. Green made it easy for Ward to win the fight by choosing to fight with him in close.

After the fight, Green said that he had over-trained for the fight and had taken off too much weight. He’s probably right. Green looked too thin. You could see it around his face. Green had the look of someone that had dieted too severely and had ended up stripping off muscle along with fat.

In an interview with Danish Television station TV 2, Green said “I won’t see Kessler lasting the whole fight unless he brings something new to the table. That’s what I’m looking for. It doesn’t matter to me where I fight. In my opinion, it’s a coincidence that all the fighters fighting at home have won every fight. I have no problem coming to Denmark to face the champion of the world.”

Green needs to fight a lot better than he has in his last two fights against Tarvis Simms and Ward. In both fights, Green was hit a lot, and didn’t throw enough combinations. Green has been looking to land one big punch at a time. It wouldn’t matter so much if Green was bigger puncher, but he doesn’t have tremendous power.

Green certainly hits hard, but he’s not a one punch knockout artist like Julian Jackson used to be. Kessler won’t make it easy for Green by standing on the outside throwing hard jabs all night long. Green doesn’t have a jab like Kessler’s. If the fight ends up with Kessler fighting conservatively, then Green will have no other choice but to come after him and try to pressure him.

Thus far, Green hasn’t shown in the past that he’s a fighter that is good at pressuring his opponents. With most of his wins, his opposition has fallen over after getting hit with a few big shots from him. Kessler likely won’t go down, and Green will have to work hard if he wants to get the win. I doubt he will be up to the task of brawling with Kessler for 12 rounds.
