Mike Tyson is the latest former fighter to offer up a pro-Pacquiao fight theory. These pundits must believe that Floyd is going to win and that Manny needs their advice.

First of all Manny Pacquiao doesn’t need any advice he has Buboy Fernandez and the great Freddie Roach preparing him for battle. So I’m breaking with the trend of the other articles and offering my “how to beat Manny Pacquiao theory” to Floyd Mayweather.

Many of the other articles have downgraded and minimized Mayweather’s competition, or have branded Floyd a coward, or get this – said that Floyd choosing to fight Pacquiao was a business decision, this article won’t refute those points. Manny Pacquiao WILL BE the fastest fighter that Mayweather has EVER faced! But the flipside of the coin is that Mayweather is the FASTEST and QUICKEST fighter that Pacquiao has ever faced too.

Businesses, athletes, teams, don’t tend to change processes that work, the same goes with fighters, so don’t expect much difference from what both fighter have always done. Manny Pacquiao will probably employ a fight plan similar to that used against Oscar De La Hoya since Freddie Roach is under the impression that Floyd Mayweather’s legs are ‘shot’. Another impression that Roach has is that Mayweather is wary of southpaws even though Mayweather is 8-0 against them, and, has had some of his best victories against lefties.

Manny Pacquiao follows a set pattern of movements when he fights. These are: 1) upper body and head movement when at distance, 2) head and upper body movement stops just prior to attacking, 3) dart in with hands down and attack with flurry of punches, 4) step back out of punching range, 5) repeat. Expect a lot of lead lefts from Manny Pacquaio, following the DLH fight script.

So my suggestions for Floyd Mayweather are as follows: 1) draw Pacquiao’s attack, 2) wait for Pacquiao to stop his head movement leading to his attack, then counter and continue turning to your left, 3) shoulder roll Manny’s right hook cause he throws it like an overhand right thrown from the traditional stance, 4) lead with the straight right, 5) defend the flurries, 6) attack the body, 7) drill with strength and conditioning coach Alex Ariza to build punching power.
