I really hope not, because Khan seems like a nice lad, albeit a cocky one at times. But I just don’t see Khan as having all the tools needed for him to beat a fighter like Garcia. Sure, Khan has great hand speed, but the ring IQ just isn’t there, and neither is the chin. With Khan the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. It’s too bad because it would have been nice for him to win and then move on to a fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr, Khan’s dream fight.

Khan’s #1 problem, besides his glass jaw, is his ring intelligence. He seems to waste so much energy by running around the ring like a chicken with it’s head cut off for no apparent reason. If you look at Khan’s fights, if his opponent even looks at him wrong, he’s off to the races darting one way and then another while his opponent is standing completely still wondering what’s up with him. All that wasted energy comes back to haunt Khan in the later rounds when he typically runs out of gas. Khan is basically a four round fighter because of all the useless running he does.

The other problem Khan is how seems to really stress out when you put a little pressure on him. Take a look at Khan’s fights against Marcos Maidana and Lamont Peterson. Khan was running here and there like he’d lost his senses completely. There was no real logic to what Khan was doing; he was just moving about the ring seemingly without much thought.

If Khan could fight with some intelligence he might win this fight, but I think he’s going to stress out when he gets hit hard for the first time and start running all around without any real strategy. This will cause Khan to wear down and Garcia will catch up to him in the second half of the fight and put Khan out of his misery.
