By Babatis Banda: There are a number of fighters, who hold a clean record in boxing today, and there are a number of fighters who retired with a clean record and yet, none of them are like, or near Floyd Mayweather Junior. He has created an image for himself that either you will find repulsive or intriguing. It is either you love him, or you hate him. This is a young boxer that has it all, and it is all summarized in skills and ring intelligence.

We probably have come across, in some part of our lives either as we grew up in our neighborhoods or at school, those bullies that would seemingly always find their way harassing their colleagues and terrorizing everybody. There would also be those small boys that would challenge and embarrass the big bullies by taking them on, and you would wonder what these small boys are made of. This is also exactly the situation in the world of boxing. There are the rough-cut fighters that have found themselves in the sport just because of their physic and toughness. There are also those that have gone into boxing because it provided a livelihood.

There are those that are just a warrior type and have passion for the sport and are just ready to bang it up. In short, there are all these types of bullies in the sport of boxing. In all the types of boxers, there is the elite type, the inborn boxers if you like, the talented type that seems to have it naturally, the type that does things not taught in the books. This is the type that Floyd belongs to, it can handle all the type of bullies, just like that small boy that takes on the big bullies and tactfully wins the clashes.

History has shown that for this type of sport icons, they are either intensely despised or loved while they live. Their accolades and rewards and recognition are usually delayed or debated or at the worst, recognized long after they are gone. The fact of the matter is that Floyd Mayweather Junior is in a class of his own, it is difficult to see him dominated because of his skills. Floyd has demonstrated that whatever the category of a boxer/fighter his opponents belong to, skill, intelligence and that instinctive element that is never learnt in class or read out of a book, always takes the day. For the boxing wizard he is, the only danger to Floyd is Floyd himself. Forget about the ordinary boxers, those that bully their way around, there are usually a number of replicas for such and there is always a full-stop in their careers, but Floyd stands alone and in a class of his own.

There is no one in the history of boxing that has shown the defensive skills better than Floyd has. The record is there to show that he has never really been hit, and to lose in boxing you must first be hit. His reflexes are so good that he switches from a defensive posture to an offensive one as if he was a viper of some kind. Until Floyd Mayweather junior loses it by loss of dedication in training, or losses his reflexes through age, nobody today will walk into the ring 80 percent sure of a win I don’t care who they are.

You either hate him or love him for what he is…..the genius of a boxer, a perfect chapter in the history of boxing skills.
