Vazquez-Marquez IV set for May 22nd – News

By Peter Wells: After three great wars, Israel Vazquez and Rafael Marquez will step into the ring for the fourth time against each other, in what is promised to be the best yet. It will be a night to remember and is near enough impossible to call. Whatever happens in their other fights has nothing to do with what will happen this time; both fighters suddenly fight like they are 25 and give everything for as long as it goes. Two old school fighters slugging it out is many fans dream fight.

Vazquez has only fought once since their last bout against Angelo Antonio Priolo whom he beat in 9 rounds in a cracker. Unfortunately for Israel he once again suffered nasty cuts which are sure to open up again in their next contest. As for Marquez he has had it relatively easy beating Jose Francisco Mendoza in just 3 rounds.

Rafael will have been inactive from boxing for a year when they fight and only 7 months for Vazquez, so both fighters will be coming in quite rusty. But that won’t prevent this from being a cracking fight.

So once again expect a bloody fight, with knockdowns from both corners, and maybe even another stoppage. Who’s going to win? I don’t have a clue, let’s just enjoy it when it comes around.
