Marquez could fight two more times

marquez21By Chris Williams: Manny Pacquiao conqueror Juan Manuel Marquez (55-6-1, 40 KO’s) could return to the ring for two more times, according to Manila Bulletin. Marquez, 39, is interested in beating Manny Pacquiao again to show that his recent win over the Filipino wasn’t just a fluke, and from there he then wants one more final fight before retiring.

It’s anyone’s guess who Marquez will fight for the final bout of his career but he has said that he would like to go after a fourth world title at welterweight, so there’s a possibility that he could wind up facing someone like WBO welterweight champion Tim Bradley. A better fight than that would be for Marquez to face WBC welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. in a rematch.

Marquez doesn’t need to face Pacquiao again

marquez073By Chris Williams: Juan Manuel Marquez (55-6-1, 40 KO’s) proved all he had to prove in beating Manny Pacquiao (54-5-2, 38 KO’s) by an unforgettable 6th round knockout this month in Las Vegas, Nevada, and I don’t see there being any real point in Marquez continuing on with his series of fights with Manny. The fourth fight was conclusive to determine that Marquez is the better fighter of the two.

Marquez dominated Pacquiao in the first three fights, and then knocked him out in the fourth fight. I don’t see real reason for the series to continue, and it’s only going to be bad for Pacquiao if it does because Marquez has gotten the better of him all four fights and it’s getting worse for him lately.

Pacquiao-Marquez 5: Who gets the blame if Manny gets knocked out again?

pac73By Chris Williams: Manny Pacquiao (54-5-2, 38 KO’s) appears headed for a rematch with Juan Manuel Marquez (55-6-1, 40 KO’s) despite the dangers involved for the Filipino should he take this fight.

Pacquiao was badly knocked out on December 8th by Marquez and with this kind of knockout you won’t know what’s going to happen with Pacquiao until he gets in the ring again.

Much of the blame for Pacquiao’s loss has to Marquez has to rest on the shoulders of his trainer Freddie Roach, because he’s the one after all that came up with the strategy for him to fight with more aggression in that fight in the belief that it would enable Pacquiao to fight like he did earlier in his career when he was a more energetic and successful fighter.

Should Arum throw Pacquiao to the wolf Marquez in 2013?

marquez91By Chris Williams: It’s common sense that you don’t take a fighter that has been knocked out cold the way that Manny Pacquiao was against Juan Manuel Marquez and look to put him back in with the same fighter in their next fight. This isn’t like drinking alcohol the morning after a binge to try and recover from a hangover.

It’s just not smart to place a fighter like Pacquiao back in with the source of his hurt because Marquez is going to be the equivalent of a hungry wolf the next time he gets the Filipino in the ring with him next year if Pacquiao’s promoter Bob Arum chooses to throw Pacquiao back in the ring with Marquez.

Marquez not the ideal opponent for Pacquiao to be fighting next

marquez56By Eric Thomas: Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez could be back in the ring facing each other for a fifth time in either June or September next year. Bob Arum, Pacquiao’s promoter, is targeting those two dates as potential dates for what he wants to set up the Pacquiao-Marquez 5th fight and he’s already eyeing the Cowboys Stadium, in Arlington, Texas as the venue for the fight.

Marquez isn’t the type of fighter that Arum should be putting with Pacquiao, because we just saw Pacquiao knocked out by Marquez two weeks ago, and this wasn’t just a normal run of the mill type of knockout loss for Pacquiao. He was knocked completely out by Marquez when Pacquiao ran up onto a right hand in the 6th round from Marquez and Pacquiao was immediately flattened for the 10 count.

Pacquiao wants to return to the ring in April

pac5645By Chris Williams: While Manny Pacquiao’s promoter Bob Arum wants him to rest and recover from his 6th round knockout until September of next year, Pacquiao will reportedly doesn’t want to wait that long until he gets back in the ring. Pacquiao wants to be back in action in April against an opponent still to be determined, according to the Manila Bulletin.

Pacquiao was knocked out by Juan Manuel Marquez on December 8th of this month in a KO that left Pacquiao flat on his face on the canvas out cold.

Jinkee should talk Pacquiao out of fighting Marquez again

linkee3By Chris Williams: It looks like Manny Pacquiao (54-5-2, 38 KO’s) will be fighting Juan Manuel Marquez (55-6-1, 40 KO’s) for a fifth time next year in June or September. I think Pacquiao’s wife Jinkee needs to sit him down and talk some sense into before he takes this fight because I think the chances are extremely high that Pacquiao gets knocked cold again.

Marquez really blasted Pacquiao out in their fourth fight, and Pacquiao is awfully lucky that he didn’t hurt badly because with a knockout like that there’s always a danger of something happening. But a lot of top fighters and ex-fighters think that there’s a chance that Pacquiao won’t be able to take punishment in his fights from now on.

How Pacquiao vs. Marquez 5 will put huge pressure on Mayweather

floyd42By Mohamed Horomtallah: It seems that everybody has pretty much buried Manny Pacquiao after his 6th round knock out against Marquez. They say that he’s done and can no longer be the fighter he once was. They back that argument by bringing up the fact that Pacquiao  has now lost 2 fights in a row and didn’t convince in the 3rd Marquez fight. I beg to disagree.

Things should always be placed in their context and in this particular instance, one needs to analyze Paquiao’s last 3 fights and the events surrounding them.

Jinkee: I don’t want Pacquiao to end up in a wheel chair

jinkee2By Allan Fox: Jinkee, the wife of former 8 division world champion Manny Pacquiao, wants him to get out of the sport before he gets really hurt. Jinkee was shocked and worried at seeing Manny knocked unconscious by Juan Manuel Marquez in their fight two weeks ago in Las Vegas, Nevada, and she worries that Pacquiao could end up in a wheelchair the next time he gets knocked out by Marquez.

She wants to avoid the risk and have Pacquiao retire from boxing. She’s leaving he decision up to him, but she’s hoping that he agrees to hang up his gloves before he gets seriously hurt.

Marquez has absolutely nothing to prove

marquez5by James Le Blanc IV: After DVR’ing every sports show on ESPN the next day to hear what all the analyst had to say about the knockout victory Juan Manuel Marquez scored on Manny Pacquiao and what it meant to the potential showdown of Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather I was utterly disappointed in what I was hearing.  It seemed like everyone was automatically calling for a Pacquiao vs. Marquez 5 showdown.  As a fan I never wanted to see those two fight a fourth time, or a third time for that matter (but I understand how some do).

This rivalry has held back a few potential match-ups that I would rather have seen and while we can credit Manny for taking on a hard task as he knowingly has issues when he fights his rival Marquez, I preferred he would have taken a different route.
