Tony Thompson faces Malik Scott tonight on Bounce TV

thompson567By Scott Gilfoid: Former two time world title challenger #9 WBC Tony Thompson (40-5, 27 KOs) will be ready to put it all on the line tonight in his 10 round fight against the always tough Malik Scotto (37-2-1, 13 KOs) on Premier Boxing Champions on Bounce TV from The Venue at UCF, in Orlando, Florida.

The fight is promoted by Warriors Boxing and it should be an interesting one from start to finish. The 44-year-old Thompson is nine years older than the 35-year-old Scott, but he doesn’t plan on letting age get in the way of him going out there and trying to win the fight so that he can get closer to a world title shot.

Image: Weights: Thompson 263, Scott 235Photo credit: Andre Courtemanche/Warriors Boxing) By Scott Gilfoid: #9 WBC heavyweight contender Tony Thompson (40-5, 27 KOs) weighed in at 263 pounds on Thursday for his scheduled 10 round fight against Malik Scott (37-2-1, 13 KOs) for their fight on Premier Boxing Champions on Bounce TV from The Venue at UCF, in Orlando, Florida. Scott, 34, weighed in at 235lbs.

263 is now a normal weight for Thompson, who previously used to weigh in the mid-240s for his fights. Thompson put on 20 pounds of flab on his frame two years ago for his fight against David Price, and he never lost the weight for some reason. Thompson is just carrying around rather than trimming it out the way that some heavyweights would.

Tony Thompson: I’m going to KO Deontay Wilder and then fight Klitschko

thompson323By Scott Gilfoid: #9 WBC Tony Thompson (40-5, 27 KOs) says he’s planning on beating WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder (35-0, 34 KOs) for his WBC title, and then using his WBC belt to get a third fight against IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (64-3, 53 KOs), who has already knocked him out twice in stopping him in 2008 and 2012.

Thompson, 44, isn’t satisfied with the outcome of those two fights, and he wants another crack at Klitschko to improve upon the performances he had the two previous times. There’s a chance that the 6’5” Thompson could be an opponent for Wilder in his next proposed fight in January 2016 or sooner.

Tony Thompson vs. Malik Scott this Friday on PBC on Bounce TV

TeamThompsonBy Tim Fletcher: 44-year-old #9 WBC heavyweight contender Tony Thompson (40-5, 27 KOs) will be looking to add another scalp to his resume this Friday night against 35-year-old Malik Scott (37-2-1, 13 KOs) in a 10 round fight on free television in the main event on Premier Boxing Champions on Bounce TV at The Venue at UCF, located behind the CFE Arena in Orlando, Fla.

Thompson rebounded from the loss by defeating Orlanier Solis by an 8th round knockout last February in Turkey. This was the second time that Thompson beat Solis.

Tony Thompson battles Malik Scott in main event on October 30th

thompson323By Allan Fox: #9 WBC heavyweight contender Tony Thompson (40-5, 27 KOs) will be fighting 34-year-old Malik Scott (37-2-1, 13 KOs) in a scheduled 10 round fight in what shapes up to be a mismatch later this month on 10/30 on Premier Boxing Champions on Bounce TV in a fight that will take place at the Venue at UCF in Orlando, Florida.

The Thompson-Scott fight will be the main event on a card with unbeaten light welterweight Lydell Rhodes (23-0-1, 11 KOs) facing little known Sergey Lipinets (7-0, 6 KOs). Also on the card is a 147lb match between Javontae Starks (13-0, 7 KOs) and Samuel Figueroa (9-0, 4 KOs). Thompson vs. Scott isn’t exactly a great fight because there’s a difference in talent between them, and we’re still not talking about two heavyweights that appear to be going in anywhere in the division.

Malik Scott unhappy that people think he faked KO loss to Wilder

scottBy Scott Gilfoid: American heavyweight Malik Scott (36-2-1, 13 KO’s) doesn’t know where people are coming from with their speculation that he took a dive in the 1st round in getting knocked out by the 6’7″ contender Deontay Wilder (31-0, 31 KO’s) last Saturday night in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. Malik says that his knockout loss to the powerful Deontay was a direct result of a left hook that nailed him on the temple.

The shot that Deontay landed against Scott would have likely knocked out anyone in the division due to the perfect extension and placement that he got into the punch. Not only did Deontay get full extension on his huge 83″ reach, but he also placed the punch perfectly to the right temple area of Scott. Deontay placed that punch like a surgeon to an area where the chances of Scott surviving the punch was slim and none.

Deontay: Malik Scott said it was my left hook that stopped him

deontay645By Scott Gilfoid: Heavyweight Deontay Wilder (31-0, 31 KO’s) cleared up the confusion about which of his two powerful shots that did the job in knocking out Malik Scott (36-2-1, 13 KO’s) in the 1st round last Saturday night at the Coliseo Ruben Rodriguez, Bayamon, Puerto Rico. Deontay said that Scott told him it was his left hook that put him on the canvas in the 1st round.

With the way that Deontay nailed Scott, it was hard to tell which of his punches planted the 33-year-old Scott for the 10 count.

“I spoke to Malik Scott and he said it was my left hook that did it,” Deontay said. “He’ll do great things, though.”

Deontay Wilder smashes Malik Scott for 31st consecutive KO

004 Wilder vs Scott IMG_1297(Photo credit: Tom Casino/Showtime) By Scott Gilfoid: Heavyweight Deontay Wilder’s 1st round stoppage win over Malik Scott (36-2-1, 13 KO’s) tonight showed the kind of punching power that the 6’7″ Wilder has in his body, and it still has fans in disbelief. The knockout was so quick and so final that many fans are having a difficult time trying to digest what Deontay did in winning so easily at the Coliseo Ruben Rodriguez, Bayamon, in Puerto Rico.

This is the same Malik Scott who was beating Dereck Chisora until getting hit with a rabbit punch in the 6th round of their controversial 9 count fight in July of last year. This is the same Scott who held Vyacheslav Glazkov to a 10 round draw last year in February in a fight that many boxing fans saw Scott winning.
