By Chris Williams: Daniel Jacobs doesn’t see anything special about middleweight champion Gennady “GGG” Golovkin, and he’s not afraid of him. According to Jacobs, Golovkin is just a “simple man” that can be hurt, and he plans on doing just that tonight when the two fight each other on HBO pay-per-view at Madison Square Garden in New York. Jacobs (32-1, 29 KOs) says he has some tricks up his sleeves that he’s going to introduce to Golovkin (36-0, 33 KOs) when he gets him inside the ring tonight.

By Allan Fox: Daniel Jacobs failed to show at today’s IBF mandated same day weigh-in for his fight against Gennady “GGG” Golovkin tonight at Madison Square Garden in New York. The IBF will not be available for Jacobs to win tonight due to him failing to show up at the weigh-in today. Jacobs can still win Golovkin’s IBO, WBA and WBC titles. Winning those titles would be a big deal for Jacobs, because it could lead to a big money fight against Saul “Canelo” Alvarez or a rematch with Golovkin. It would be life changing money for Jacobs.

By Gerardo Granados: This Saturday at the Madison Square Garden, New York, a solid boxing card awaits for all proud fight fans for the Gennady Golovkin vs. Daniel Jacobs card. In the undercard there’s former WBC super flyweight champion Carlos Cuadras facing David Carmona. “El Principe” Cuadras should do an easy job and look impressive defeating Carmona. We also have pound for pound King, Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez making his first defense of his WBC super flyweight title, against mandatory challenger experienced former WBC super flyweight champion Wisaksil Wangek. Against Cuadras, Chocolatito had to dig deep to earn the decision and on his first defense attempt of his title, we could see if moving up to his fourth division has really affected his punching power.

Golovkin will be razor sharp for Jacobs says Loeffler

Image: Golovkin will be razor sharp for Jacobs says Loeffler

By Chris Williams: Gennady Golovkin’s promoter Tom Loeffler says Daniel Jacobs is the opponent to allow him to show off all his full ability in their fight on Saturday. Loeffler feels that Golovkin was sloppy in the past in his fights when he wasn’t totally motivated by an opponent. Golovkin was hit more than he should have been in his last outing against Kell Brook. Loeffler sees that as a motivation issue for Golovkin, but it won’t be a problem for him against Jacobs.

By Allan Fox: Gennady Golovkin rates Daniel Jacobs as his most dangerous opponent of his entire 10-year pro career, but the boxing fans overwhelmingly see this as just another knockout for Triple G. It’s a bigger opponent for Golovkin than the guys that he’s been facing lately, but it’s still someone that he has a very good chance of knocking out when the two of them fight on Saturday on HBO pay-per-view at Madison Square Garden in New York.
