Instead of facing an actual contender in the super middleweight division that could test him and give his boxing fans a great show in the Nottingham Arena and on Sky, Froch will be taking on a guy that has little chance to beat him in 32-year-old Mack. Isn’t this kind of unfair to Froch’s loyal, loving and enduring fans?

Image: Froch in a no win situation with Mack fightBy Scott Gilfoid: You have to feel a little sorry for IBF super middleweight champion Carl Froch (29-2, 21 KO’s) because he’s about to fight a soft touch in Yusaf Mack (31-4-2, 17 kO’s) on November 17th in Nottingham, England and Froch probably isn’t going to get any credit if and when he beats the 32-year-old Mack.

Why? Because Mack has already been knocked out recently by 42-year-old Glen Johnson and Tavoris Cloud. All Froch is getting is sloppy thirds by taking on a guy that was already knocked out in recent fights. Boxing fans will be like ‘So what’ after Froch beats this guy because Mack has already been beaten badly against Johnson and Cloud.

Another thing to worry about with this mismatch is that if Mack causes Froch to really struggle badly to win the fight, it’s going to make Froch look bad because Cloud and Johnson both dominated Mack with ease. And if Froch loses to Mack, well then he might as well retire because that loss would ruin his rematches against Lucian Bute and Mikkel Kessler.

He’s fought the best and most times he’s absolutely battered them. He’s shown tremendous heart, skill and determination in every single fight that he’s been in. He is without a doubt the best 168 pound fighter on the planet and is still a force to be reckoned with.

Personally I believe his two “losses” are a joke. I wont lie the Kessler fight was close, whereby Kessler was able to land some thudding hooks and jabs to Froch’s chin; nevertheless I scored the fight a draw which I believe to be fair, considering the fact that they’re both warriors and easily the two best super middleweights in the division. I’m very sure that a rematch with be made between these two boxing giants in the near future.
