By Scott Gilfoid: Yusaf Mack (31-4-2, 17 KO’s) has been dragged down from the light heavyweight division to face IBF super middleweight champion Carl Froch (29-2, 21 KO’s) in his first title defense of his International Boxing Federation strap on November 17th in front of Froch’s fans at the Capital FM Arena, in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, United Kingdom. The thought by many boxing fans is that Mack, 32, was brought down from 175 to be a sacrificial lamb for the 35-year-old Froch to slaughter in front of his fans in the UK.

By William Mackay: For United States boxing fans wanting a chance to see IBF super middleweight champion Carl Froch (29-2, 21 KO’s) face American light heavyweight contender Yusaf Mack (31-4-2, 17 KO’s) on November 17th, the fight will reportedly be shown by Integrated Sports pay per view in the U.S for $29.95 for the 3 pm ET start of the fight, according to Dan Rafael.
This is kind of nice because there are a number of Froch fans in the U.S, and of course the 32-year-old Mack has fans as well that might want to see him fight.
Froch-Mack: Don’t be surprised if Yusaf stuns Carl a couple of times in this fight
By Scott Gilfoid: IBF super middleweight champion Carl Froch (29-2, 21 KO’s) and his promoter Eddie Hearn have picked an opponent vulnerable enough in Yusaf Mack (31-4-2, 17 KO’s) should be able to get though this fight without losing when they square off on November 17th in Froch’s home city of Nottingham, England.
Mack has a good chance of stunning Froch in the early going with his big shots. Mack is probably the biggest puncher that Froch has ever fought before, and we’ve seen in the past that Froch can get hurt when tagged by hard shots. Andre Dirrell did it, and so did Jermain Taylor, to name just a couple. However, Mack has got some chin problems and he’s going to have to get to Froch early if he’s going to win this fight. I can see Mack’s chin betraying him if he can’t blast the Brit out within three or four rounds.
Tony Bellew vs. Roberto Bolonti on November 17th on Froch-Mack undercard
By Scott Gilfoid: WBC International Silver light heavyweight title holder Tony Bellew (18-1, 12 KO’s) will be making his first defense of his new strap against little known 33-year-old 175 contender Roberto Bolonti (30-1, 19 KO’s) on the undercard on the IBF super middleweight champion Carl Froch vs. Yusaf Mack on November 17th at the Capital FM Arena, in Nottingham, UK.
Bellew told IFilm London “I think his [Bolonti] weakness is his defense, and the way to get to him is to pressure him. It’s another step up the ladder.”
Bellew hopes to take a win over Bolonti and then fight WBC light heavyweight eliminator in early 2013 to try and earn a shot against WBC light heavyweight champion Chad Dawson at some point next year.

Mack is basically being brought to put up just enough of a fight to make it interesting but not enough to actually beat Froch.

Mack, 32, is being dragged down from 175 lbs to get an opponent that will hopefully make it interesting for the Brits that eager to see this mismatch but not good enough to actually beat Froch. Froch’s promoter Eddie Hearn wants to keep Froch winning so that he can get big payday rematches against Mikkel Kessler and Lucian Bute in 2013.

If Froch emerges from the Mack, Bute and Kessler fights still holding into the International Boxing Federation 168 pound title and still cogent, then he could face the winner of the Adonis Stevenson vs. Donovan George fight later in 2013.

Bellew, 29, doesn’t have an opponent picked out, but his promoter Eddie Hearn was yapping about Bellew getting a title shot in 2013 and winning it.

By Liam T Smith: I will start this article by referring to a post I read on this site a few days ago. Of course I will not name the writer but the article in question was about current IBF Super Middleweight champion Carl Froch.
The writer spoke about how Froch’s upcoming title defence against Yusaf Mack was a “no win” fight for Froch. He also questioned why no one close to Carl had told him to avoid this fight and instead search for a stronger opponent. His reasons for this were that Carl will not receive enough credit should he defeat a “lesser” opponent and at the same time will probably have to retire should he lose.

By Scott Gilfoid: While it’s painfully obvious that #6 IBF light heavyweight contender Yusaf Mack (31-4-2, 17 KO’s) is out of his class against IBF super middleweight champion Carl Froch (29-2, 21 KO’s) in their fight on November 17th, Mack does have a few things in his favor in this fight.
For one, he’s definitely the faster guy in terms of hand speed. He’s a notch above Froch in the hand speed department, which really isn’t saying a whole lot because a lot of guys are faster than Froch. He just doesn’t have a lot of hand speed and that’s okay. Froch just wasn’t blessed with hand speed like Mack.
