Broner vs. DeMarco: Adrien ready to give a Mayweather-eque performance

Image: Broner vs. DeMarco: Adrien ready to give a Mayweather-eque performanceBy Scott Gilfoid: Boxing may not have Floyd Mayweather Jr. in action that much nowadays, but fans will get an opportunity to see Mayweather clone Adrien Broner (24-0, 20 KO’s) fighting next month against WBC lightweight champion Antonio DeMarco (28-2-1, 21 KO’s) on HBO on November 17th at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Broner, 23, can do everything pretty much that Mayweather can do, but with a much cheaper price tag given that Broner’s fights aren’t yet on expensive $49.95 pay per view cards like Mayweather’s. That’s likely to change in the very near future if Broner keeps destroying his opponents one after another and bringing in huge ratings for HBO.

DeMarco: I can stop Adrien Broner

Image: DeMarco: I can stop Adrien BronerBy Scott Gilfoid: WBC lightweight champion Antonio DeMarco (28-2-1, 21 KO’s) thinks he’s got the power and the skills to beat undefeated Adrien Broner (24-0, 20 KO’s) next month in their important HBO televised fight at the Boardwalk Hall, in Atlantic City, New Jersey, USA. DeMarco, 5’10”, thinks he has the power to hand the 23-year-old Broner his first loss of his four-year pro career.

DeMarco said to Fighthype.com “I have the capacity to stop Broner, mentally and physically…If he doesn’t make the weight, then there is no fight.”

Kellerman: Broner should be top 10 pound for pound if he dominates DeMarco

Image: Kellerman: Broner should be top 10 pound for pound if he dominates DeMarcoBy Scott Gilfoid: If Adrien Broner (24-0, 20 KO’s) can destroy WBC lightweight champion Antonio DeMarco (28-2-1, 21 KO’s) next month on November 17th, HBO’s Max Kellerman feels that the 23-year-old Broner will be ready to break the top 10 pound for pound lists in boxing. I completely agree with Kellerman. A great win over the tough as nails DeMarco should put Broner in the top 10, although I doubt that will happen.

Kellerman told Thaboxingvoice.com “If he [Broner] dominates DeMarco, that’s a real bold statement. To me, he jumps to the top ten on many pound for pound lists as many expect he will end up anyway.”

Kellerman: Broner is a bigger puncher than Mayweather

Image: Kellerman: Broner is a bigger puncher than MayweatherBy Scott Gilfoid: HBO expert analyst Max Kellerman sees former WBO super bantamweight champion Adrien Broner (24-0, 20 KO’s) as a bigger puncher than Floyd Mayweather Jr., but not quite as good as him defensively. Kellerman is able to see differences between the two talents, and doesn’t see Broner as a copy-cat clone of Floyd like a lot of boxing fans think.

Speaking to thaboxingvoice.com, Kellerman said “He’s [Broner] a good defensive fighter but not quite as good as Floyd. In actuality, he’s a better puncher than Mayweather and maybe a better puncher than I think he knows he is.”

Broner-DeMarco: Antonio is going to need to be special to beat Adrien

Image: Broner-DeMarco: Antonio is going to need to be special to beat AdrienBy Eric Thomas: WBC lightweight champion Antonio DeMarco (28-2-1, 21 KO’s) is coming into his November 17th fight against Adrien Broner (24-0, 20 KO’s) as the champion but he might as well be the challenger when the two fighters meet up at the Boardwalk Hall, in Atlantic City, New Jersey, USA. Broner is clearly the more talented fighter of the two, the bigger puncher, the faster faster and the better guy defensively.

The only real thing that DeMarco has going for him in this fight is his 5’10” height, which will give him a three inch height advantage over the 5’7″ Broner. That’s not enough, though. That’s a good thing to have, don’t get me wrong, but DeMarco’s reach is the exact same as Broner’s, and that means that Broner will have no problems landing his shots against the taller DeMarco.

Broner to take his career to the next level against DeMarco

By Scott Gilfoid: A nice win over WBC lightweight world champion Antonio DeMarco (28-2-1, 20 KO’s) will catapult unbeaten Adrien Broner (24-0, 20 KO’s) into super stardom in their fight on November 17th at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey. This fight is what Broner needs to turn him into a regular HBO fighter to an HBO pay per view fighter where he’s getting the same kinds of cash that bigger stars like Floyd Mayweather Jr, Manny Pacquiao and Miguel Cotto are already enjoying.

Broner’s last fight against Vicente Escobedo brought in huge rating numbers for HBO last July, proving that Broner has the popularity to attracts fans in high numbers.

Broner interested in fighting Rios or Alvarado after he beats DeMarco next month

Image: Broner interested in fighting Rios or Alvarado after he beats DeMarco next monthBy Scott Gilfoid: Adrien Broner (24-0, 20 KO’s) doesn’t want to be constricted to the lightweight division after he destroys WBC lightweight champion Antonio DeMarco (28-2-1, 21 KO’s) next month on November 17th at the Boardwalk Hall, in Atlantic City, New Jersey, USA. Broner, 23, says he’s interested in fighting from lightweight all the way up to junior middleweight in order to get the biggest fights possible.

While Broner has only been a pro for the last four years, Broner is already on the verge of becoming the next pay per view star for HBO. His last fight against Vicente Escobedo hauled in 1.4 million viewers on HBO, the high for Boxing After Dark for the year. Those kinds of stats are usually reserved for PPV stars and you have to figure the fans that tuned in for that fight were fans of Broner more so than Escobedo.

Ricky Burns didn’t duck Adrien Broner

Image: Ricky Burns didn't duck Adrien BronerBy Steven Ocallaghan: Adrien Broner’s dad recently mentioned in an interview at Fighthype how he believes that WBO lightweight champion Ricky Burns has been running from Broner, and that he sees Burns continuing to do this in the future. The fact of the matter is Burns couldn’t make 130lbs so moved up last year rather than fighting Broner.

Broner himself couldn’t make the limit in his last fight against Vincente Escobedo last July, not once but twice but insisted that he was super featherweight.

Let’s see if Broner makes the weight in his challenge for a world title on November 17th against WBC lightweight champion Antonio DeMarco or will Broner just give away a few dollars to still make the fight happen?

Broner’s dad: Ricky Burns ran from Adrien once; he’ll do it again

Image: Broner's dad: Ricky Burns ran from Adrien once; he'll do it againBy Scott Gilfoid: Former WBO super featherweight champion Adrien Broner’s dad doesn’t see WBO lightweight champion Ricky Burns (35-2, 10 KO’s) being seriously interested in wanting to face Adrien in a unification match in 2013 despite Burns having said that he’d like to take that fight.

Broner’s dad said to Fighthype.com “Ricky Burns, we know you ran from us up to 135. We’re about to catch you at 135. Burns don’t want none. He can keep running. He’s a bum.”
