Image: Broner vs. DeMarco: I'm going to knock Antonio out, says AdrienBy Scott Gilfoid: Adrien Broner (24-0, 20 KO’s) is on a mission on November 17th. He’s coming to take WBC lightweight champion Antonio DeMarco’s title and do it in style by knocking him out cold in their fight on HBO at the Boardwalk Hall, Atlantic City, in New Jersey, USA. Broner, 23, is moving up in weight and he wants to beat the so-called best fighter at lightweight in DeMarco and look sensation in doing so.

Broner said “I’m not coming just to win this fight, I’m coming to knock DeMarco out…it’s just going to be another day in the ring for me.”

You can believe it. This is going to be just another mismatch for Broner like his previous 24 other mismatches because no one can handle this guy’s talent. He’s on another level and there’s really no one close to him in this division or even at light welterweight. Broner needs to get this fight over with quickly, then take Ricky Burn’s scalp, if he’ll agree to fight Broner, and then move up to light welterweight where there are much more interesting fights than this. Beating up on painfully thin DeMarco or the slow as molasses Burns aren’t big fights. Broner needs to move up to 140 and go after Amir Khan, Lucas Matthysse, Danny Garcia, Juan Manuel Marquez, Mike Alvarado and Brandon Rios. Those are much better fights for Broner than having to beat up on guys like Burns and DeMarco.

DeMarco can punch a little, but he’s really limited. He was exposed by Edwin Valero already in a fight where DeMarco looked like he mentally quit early on. And in DeMarco’s fight against Jorge Linaras last year, DeMarco was getting his head boxed off until late in the fight when Linares suffered some nasty cuts and was pretty much blinded by the blood. It was like Linares was fighting with a red blanket over his head with DeMarco clouting him with shots that he couldn’t see.

I’ve giving DeMarco three, maybe four rounds at best against Broner before he gets knocked out. This is going to be sickeningly one-sided from start to finish.
