This won’t be a competitive fight because Gamboa is leagues better than the 28-year-old Feranas. It’s more of a bout that Arum has added to please the large amount of Filipino boxing fans that will be purchasing the fight card on PPV, as well as all the Filipino fans that will be watching from around the world.

Image: Roger Mayweather doesn't take Gamboa seriously as opponent for Floyd JrBy Chris Williams: Promoter 50 Cent [Curtis Jackson] put out his feelers for a fight between one of his stable fighters Yuriorkis Gamboa (21-0, 16 KOs) and his former friend Floyd Mayweather Jr. recently, saying on twitter that Gamboa wanted to move up in weight to fight Mayweather Jr. This has been met with silence from Mayweather Jr.

However, Mayweather Jr’s uncles Jeff and Roger Mayweather were reported amused and confused by the offer given the huge size difference between the much bigger Mayweather Jr. compared to the tiny 5’5″ Gamboa.

50 Cent said on his twitter “Gamboa wants to fight Floyd. I will put $20 million for the winner. He don’t like it that Floyd pulled out.”

Gamboa hasn’t fought since September of last year when he beat Daniel Ponce De Leon. Gamboa left Top Rank after bailing on their scheduled fight for him against unbeaten lightweight champion Brandon Rios. Gamboa didn’t appear to like the idea of fighting the much bigger Rios, and chose not to take the fight. Gamboa then later signed with 50 Cent. It’s interesting now that Gamboa could be back on a Top Rank undercard, which is probably where he’d have been had he stayed with them.
