Deontay: I’m going to whip Fury for Lennox Lewis

wilder(Photo credit: Lucas Noonan/Premier Boxing Champions) By Scott Gilfoid: WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder (35-0, 34 KOs) says he doesn’t like the comments that IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Tyson Fury (25-0, 18 KOs) recently made about the 50-year-old Lennox Lewis, and he plans on giving Fury a real hiding when he eventually gets him inside the ring with him.

Just when that will happen is anyone’s guess. Heck, by the time Deontay faces Fury in the future, Fury will unlikely still be a world champion. Someone is going to get to Fury soon and take his scalp and his world titles at the same time.

Wladimir still bothered by loss to Fury

wladimir#6By Scott Gilfoid: 39-year-old Wladimir Klitschko (64-4, 53 KOs) is convinced that he just had an off night in losing to Tyson Fury (25-0, 18 KOs) by a 12 round unanimous decision in their fight last November in Dusseldorf, Germany. Wladimir thinks he can correct the mistakes he made in the first fight and come back to defeat the 27-year-old Fury in their rematch in the first quarter of 2016.

Whether Wladimir can do that or not remains to be seen. Wladimir lost the fight by the scores of 166-111, 115-112 and 115-112. Fury really thinks he did a job on Wladimir despite the fact that he looked almost as bad. The thing is Fury is young and in his prime. It was sad to see how awful Fury looked because he should have been able to fight at a higher level than he did if he were any good.

2015 Boxingnews24 Awards

fury8233By Gerardo Granados: As the year comes to an end, I am pleased to say, that this has been a good year to be a boxing fan. But not thanks to the “Fight of the Century” between Floyd Mayweather Jr and Manny Pacquiao, which developed and ended just as I predicted; and I am sure only a few will have a hard time trying to forget about it.

But still we the fight fans did get to enjoy many good fights; it is true we could not escape the usual avoiding of the so-called big names of real threats, but we witnessed the beginning of a new era in the heavyweight division which might be the spotlight of this year.
Before I continue I want to thank all those anonymous fighters who at all the corners of the world put up great fights to please the crowd.

When asked by skysports.com who the best heavyweight in the world is right now, Chisora said “In the world at the moment is Tyson Fury.”

Tyson Fury – Boxing’s new enigma

fury8233By John Spandley: On 28th November 2015 at the Esprit Arena in Dusseldorf the world of boxing was shocked and stunned by a challenger that exudes charisma and controversy of the likes the general and sporting public have not witnessed since the great Muhammad Ali. Now I am not here to compare the two men as that mistake has been made time and time again.

However, the circumstances and the similarities of that earth shattering performance will always mirror the night The Greatest of All Time stunned the world to rip the titles of the menacing persona that was Sonny Liston.

Who got Fury stripped?

fury12345By Robert “Big Moe” Elmore: Only after 11 days of being IBF champion, the IBF has stripped Tyson Fury of his belt for refusing to fight mandatory challenger Vyacheslav Glaskov. Let’s deal with Wladimir Klitcshko first. He was the A side, dictated the terms, and one of those terms was a rematch clause.

Fury, who was probably just excited to be getting the fight, accepted the terms. I can’t blame him. It was a huge pay day against a huge opponent. The IBF released a statement saying the contracts submitted for the fight never contained a rematch clause and was not aware of such clause until after the fight.

Tyson Fury stripped by IBF

The IBF Heavyweight World Title, which was won by Tyson Fury on November 28, 2015 when he beat the reigning champion Wladimir Klitschko in an optional defense of this title, was vacated on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 by the IBF as Tyson Fury is unable to make the mandatory defense of the IBF title against challenger Vyacheslav Glaskov because he is contractually obligated to a rematch with Klitschko, which is in direct violation of the IBF/USBA Rules Governing Championship Contests.

Fury: If the IBO/WBA/WBO want to strip me, go ahead!

fury444By Scott Gilfoid: Yesterday, heavyweight champion Tyson Fury (25-0, 18 KOs) was stripped of his IBF strap for failing to go along with the program that the International Boxing Federation had set for him to defend his title against their #1 IBF mandatory challenger Vyacheslav Glazkov, and now Fury is daring the other sanctioning bodies – IBO, WBA, WBO – to strip him of his other world titles.

Fury is now bellyaching about being stripped of his IBF title despite the fact that the IBF told him what he needed to do if he wanted to keep the belt. I think they were perfectly reasonable in letting Fury know exactly what he needed to do in order for him to hold onto his IBF strap.

The thing is Fury should hace checked with them ahead of time before he worked out a private deal to sign a rematch clause with Wladimir Klitschko. If Fury had asked the IBF about that ahead of time, he likely would have learned that they were not going to let him keep the IBF title unless he agreed to fight his #1 IBF mandatory challenger Glazkov next.

IBF strips Tyson Fury of title for not agreeing to mandatory defense

fury11111By Scott Gilfoid: The International Boxing Federation stripped IBF heavyweight champion Tyson Fury (25-0, 18 KOs) of his IBF strap earlier Tuesday for him failing to agree to defend his title against unbeaten #1 IBF Vyacheslav Glazkov (21-0-1, 13 KOs) in his next fight, according to Dan Rafael.

There was a Fury-Glazkov purse bid scheduled for Friday at the IBF’s headquarters, but it won’t be needed now. Fury couldn’t take the fight with Glazkov, because Fury will be fighting Wladimir Klitschko in a rematch in early 2016. The Ukrainian had a rematch clause in his contract for his fight last Saturday night, a fight which Fury won by a boring 12 round unanimous decision.
