Tyson Fury wants Wladimir Klitschko rematch to happen as soon as possible

Image: Tyson Fury wants Wladimir Klitschko rematch to happen as soon as possibleBy Scott Gilfoid: Unbeaten and untested IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Tyson Fury (25-0, 18 KOs) is in a real hurray to get his rematch with former undisputed heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (64-4, 53 KOs) out of the way as soon as possible so that he can move on to bigger and better things like a unification match against the talented WBC champion Deontay Wilder.

Fury sees the Deontay fight as the biggest fight in the heavyweight division in the past 100 years, and he can’t wait to get the fight to take place. The thing is Fury wants both the Klitschko and Deontay fight to be staged in the UK, and that would seem to be a non-starter.

Deontay Wilder willing to fight Tyson Fury in UK

1-deontay-wilder (4)By Scott Gilfoid: WBC heavyweight champion Deontay “Bronze Bomber” Wilder (36-0, 35 KOs) says he’s willing to travel to the UK to fight IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Tyson Fury (25-0, 18 KOs) in front of his own home crowd this year in a unification fight. Wilder will need to win his next fight against his WBC mandatory challenger Alexander Povetkin in April, and Fury will need to beat Wladimir Klitschko in their rematch this year for the fight to have a good chance of happening.

While I do think Wilder will beat Povetkin to do his part to make the fight happen, I don’t think Fury will be able to get past Wladimir a second time. I mean, Fury barely beat Wladimir last November in winning a close 12 round decision.

Fury: Khan has the speed to beat Canelo

fury11111By Scott Gilfoid: IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Tyson Fury is siding with underdog Amir Khan (31-3, 19 KOs) in his important clash with WBC middleweight champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (46-1-1, 32 KOs) on May 7. Fury believes that Khan has the hand and foot speed to do the job on the slower, but much bigger, younger and stronger Canelo.

Fury notes that the 25-year-old Canelo hasn’t knocked many people out in his last five fights despite possessing a lot of punching power, and he says he’s not been a world champion for too long. Fury sees Canelo as a pumped up welterweight, who has moved up in weight over the last five years.

Fury: I want Deontay Wilder as soon as possible

1-wilderszpilka (4)By Scott Gilfoid: Despite heavyweight champion Tyson Fury (25-0, 19 KOs) saying he’s not sure if he’ll continue his boxing career or not for one more fight, he’s saying he wants to face WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder (36-0, 35 KOs) in a unification fight as soon as possible.

Obviously, Fury isn’t going to be able to do that if he walks away from the sport. He’s saying a lot of different things though. On Thursday, Fury said he might fight one to three more times, or he may choose not to fight again.

Fury: Wladimir Klitschko is 80 percent beaten already

fury8233By Scott Gilfoid: IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Tyson Fury (25-0, 18 KOs) expects former unified world champion Wladimir Klitschko (64-4, 53 KOs) to come out looking for a knockout in their rematch this year when it eventually takes place.

Fury, 27, believes that Wladimir doesn’t have faith in his ability to box him and win a decision, so he’ll be looking to swing for the fences to try and get Fury out of there. It’s hard to understand where Fury gets his confidence from because he barely beat Wladimir last November in their fight in Dusseldorf, Germany.

Tyson Fury not sure if he’ll fight again

fury4By Scott Gilfoid: After narrowly winning the IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight titles last November in beating the over-the-hill looking 39-year-old Wladimir Klitschko by an incredibly boring 12 round unanimous decision, Britain’s Tyson Fury (25-0, 18 KOs) isn’t sure if he’ll fight again. Fury appears to be having motivation problems in trying to decide whether to get back into the ring and continue with his career.

Fury feels that he accomplished all that he wanted to accomplish by capturing a world title, and he doesn’t seem too eager to get back into the ring and defend it against Wladimir in a rematch or face some of the hungry contenders or fight WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder in a unification match.

What Fury is finding out is that it’s one thing in barely beating an old almost 40-year-old Klitschko, but it’s another thing having to defend those titles against the young hungry lions that want to rip his head off.

Tyson Fury: I saved the world from a boring era of Klitschko

fury4By Scott Gilfoid: The much younger 27-year-old Tyson Fury (25-0, 18 KOs) was really patting himself on the back about his win over the 39-year-old Wladimir Klitschko in Fury’s appearance on Real Sports with Bryant Gumball on HBO. Fury beat Klitschko by an extremely close 12 round unanimous decision on November 28th last year in a fight that could have gone Wladimir’s way if he just throw some actual punches instead of standing like a frozen statue.

Fury says that he saved the boxing world by outing an end to Klitschko’s long reign as one of the heavyweight champions.

“I thought, ‘I’ve won the heavyweight championship of the world.’ Hands up straightaway. I looked at Wladimir’s face and I could see he knew he’d lost the fight,” Fury said on HBO’s Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel. “His face told the story of the fight. He was cut to pieces. There was blood squirting out of him left, right and center. And I never had a mark on me. And I saved the world from a boring era of Klitschko.”

EXCERPTS

In beating Wladimir Klitschko and doing what 18 title challengers before him could not, Tyson Fury shocked the boxing world and claimed its greatest crown.

TYSON FURY: “’From the United Kingdom.’ And it took a second to sink in. And I thought, ‘Yes, that’s me.’ Hands up. I’ve won it. I am the man who beat the man. And I always knew it and I always said it. So not being big headed, but told you so.”

Fury: I want to get through Klitschko, then take out Deontay

Image: Fury: I want to get through Klitschko, then take out DeontayBy Scott Gilfoid: Tyson Fury (25-0, 18 KOs) says he wants to whip the 39-year-old Wladimir Klitschko in their rematch in 2016, and then target WBC talent Deontay Wilder (36-0, 35 KOs) to try and take him out of the picture to snatch his strap. Fury, 27, says he’s really interested in the Wilder fight, as well he should.

It’s a fight that would bring Fury huge, huge money if he can get the fight. Never mind the fact that Wilder’s recent title defense against little known contender Artur Szpilka only brought in 500,000 viewers on Showtime Championship Boxing in the United States, a fight between Wilder and Fury would bring in huge ratings in the UK and the U.S. It would be a pay-per-view worthy fight in the UK, and would likely sellout a stadium.

Tyson Fury says he’ll KO Anthony Joshua, wants the fight

fury1000By Scott Gilfoid: IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Tyson Fury (25-0, 18 KOs) might look to face #2 WBC Anthony Joshua (15-0, 15 KOs) later this year if he can get past former heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko in a rematch.

It was thought that Fury would look to face WBC heavyweight champion Deontay “Bronze Bomber” Wilder or IBF champion Charles Martin later this year in a unification fight. Surprisingly, Fury is jabbering about wanting to get inside the ring with Joshua, who looked terrible in his last fight against Dillian Whyte last December.
