By Manuel Perez: According to the latest boxing news, the rumor has it that Oscar De La Hoya is troubled by his recent 8th round stoppage by Manny Pacquiao on December 6th, and is interested in a possible rematch with Pacquiao. Apparently, De La Hoya’s not happy with getting beaten down so badly, and doesn’t want to go out on a sour note like this. He’s also said to not be happy with his training, believing that he was over-trained for the fight.

Hatton & Pacquiao In Negotiations?
By Jason Kim: According to the latest boxing news gossip, lightweight Manny Pacquiao and Ricky Hatton are reportedly in negotiations for a fight in 2009, which will possibly take place on either May 2nd or the 9th. Promoter Bob Arum is in talks with Hatton’s management. If nothing gets in the way of this fight, like Floyd Mayweather Jr. coming out of retirement, then it will likely be Hatton vs. Pacquiao early next year.

A once great fighter reduced to quitting on his stool against a fighter six inches shorter than him and not nearly in his class as far as boxing skills go. At best, he may have been 40% of his optimal level after starving himself and over-training for the fight to the point where it left him weak, tired and almost entirely useless after only the 2nd round of the fight.
