By Scott Gilfoid: During last night’s welterweight clash between WBO champion Manny Pacquiao and challenger Shane Mosley, the Super Six tournament contestants sounded off with some good quotes about their upcoming Super Six tourney fights. WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch faces veteran Glen Johnson next month on June 4th, and next Saturday night WBA super middleweight champion Andre Ward, the real talent in the tourney and the fighter expected to win the tourney, will be fighting Arthur Abraham on May 14th.

Froch saying he’s going to box Johnson on June 4th
By Scott Gilfoid: WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch plans on changing his usual slugging style of fighting in his next semifinals Super Six tournament fight against Glen Johnson on June 4th at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Froch usually goes right after his opponents and tries to quickly beat them down to get a knockout or at the very least gain control over the fight. At the Super Six level, Froch has hit a dry spell where he’s been unable to score knockouts and has found himself struggling in two of the three fights.
Froch: I’m going to run through Glen Johnson to get to the Super Six finals
By Scott Gilfoid: WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch (27-1, 20 KO’s) seems to be oblivious to what he’s facing in his next Super Six semifinals bout against veteran Glen Johnson (51-14-2, 35 KO’s) on June 4th at the Boardwalk Hall, in Atlantic City, New Jersey. To listen to Froch say it, you’d think a win over the 42-year-old Johnson would be about the equivalent of him going to the local grocery store to pick up a gallon of milk.
Froch sees himself fighting five more times – Next up Johnson on June 4th
By William Mackay: WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch (27-1, 20 KO’s) signed on with Matchroom Sports as his new promoter today, replacing his old promoter Mick Hennessy. Froch figures that he should have long ago had his fights shown on Sky Sports and is only now getting a shot with them after years of toiling away in relative obscurity while fellow British champions Amir Khan and David Haye regularly had their fights shown on Sky.
Johnson-Froch: Glen may wreck Carl’s world on 6/4
By Scott Gilfoid: If you were to ask 100 boxing fans who they thought would win the June 4th semifinals Super Six tournament fight between WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch (27-1, 20 KO’s) and 42-year-old challenger Glen Johnson (51-14-2, 35 KO’s), I’d say an overwhelming amount of them would pick Froch as the winner. They would see his youth, his power and some of his past performances in the Super Six tournament as reasoning for picking Froch to win.
Froch-Johnson: Carl about to be knocked down a peg
By Scott Gilfoid: WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch (27-1, 20 KO’s) has got a tough fight coming up on June 4th against veteran Glen Johnson (51-14-2, 35 KO’s) in the semifinals of the Super Six tournament at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Instead of focusing at the task at hand, Froch has been talking about who he might be fighting in the Super Six finals and who he’d like to fight after the Super Six is completed.
Erdei vs. Mitchell on Froch-Johnson undercard on June 4th
By Scott Gilfoid: The only reasonably good fight on the undercard of the June 4th bout between WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch and Glen Johnson will be a light heavyweight match-up between former WBO light heavyweight champion Zsolt Erdei (32-0, 17 KO’s) and 37-year-old Byron Mitchell (28-7-1, 21 KO’s) at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey. It’s really not that interesting a fight, because Mitchell has lost six out of his last nine fights and hasn’t been looking good as of late.
Do Froch’s fans believe he can win the Super Six tournament?
By Scott Gilfoid: In looking at some of the comments that WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch’s fans are making recently about his chances to win the Super Six tournament it appears that many of them are resigned to him losing in the tournament to WBA super middleweight champion Andre Ward.
Froch talks Sergio Martinez, Bute, Johnson, Hennessey and Sky Sports
By Sean McDaniel: WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch (27-1, 20 KO’s) had a lot to say in a recent interview at radio.thescore.com, taking about his next Super Six opponent Glen Johnson, who Froch faces on June 4th at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Froch also spoke on his former promoter Mick Hennessy, Andre Ward, Sergio Martinez, Sky Sports and Lucian Bute.
Dirrell says Froch has to outwork Johnson if he wants to win
By Scott Gilfoid: Top super middleweight contender Andre Dirrell (19-1, 13 KO’s) chimed in one his thoughts on the upcoming June 4th Super Six tournament fight between WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch (27-1, 20 KO’s) and 42-year-old Glen Johnson (51-14-2, 35 KO’s), saying on his twitter “All I know is Froch better fight young. He’s and old man so he needs to outwork him.”
Froch doesn’t really have a high work rate. He’s a fighter that gets by on trying to overpower his opponents. We saw what happens with Froch when he’s put in with someone that throws a lot of punches in his loss to Mikkel Kessler last year.
