Image: Froch: I'm going to run through Glen Johnson to get to the Super Six finalsBy Scott Gilfoid: WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch (27-1, 20 KO’s) seems to be oblivious to what he’s facing in his next Super Six semifinals bout against veteran Glen Johnson (51-14-2, 35 KO’s) on June 4th at the Boardwalk Hall, in Atlantic City, New Jersey. To listen to Froch say it, you’d think a win over the 42-year-old Johnson would be about the equivalent of him going to the local grocery store to pick up a gallon of milk. Froch makes it seem as if he’s going to have an easy time with Johnson. Boy, is Froch in for a big surprise. He’s likely going to take a beating in this fight and be exposed – again.

In an article at Sky Sports News, Froch said “I’m going to run straight through him [Johnson] and book my spot in the final then gran that Super Six trophy with both gloves and bring it back to Great Britain. You’re about to see the ‘Cobra’ in full swing and I can’t wait.”

I think someone needs to wake Froch up because he seems to be dreaming again. First of all, Froch isn’t going to be winning the Super Six tournament. I hate to drizzle on his parade but that isn’t happening. Froch will never get by Andre Ward. That’s the cut off point where he will have officially reached the limits of his talent. Froch may be able to beat a guy like Arthur Abraham, but beating Ward is a whole different matter. But I suspect it won’t even get to that, because Johnson has the tools to take care of Froch proper. Johnson will act in affect as a gatekeeper for Froch to getting into the Super Six finals and will beat him by exposing Froch’s lack of an inside game on June 4th. In that case, Froch will have to purchase tickets to come and sit the audience of the Super Six finals to watch Johnson and Ward get it on in front of a world wide audience for the glory of the Super Six trophy.
