Chisora should come to U.S to fight Deontay Wilder

chisora45By Scott Gilfoid: The proposed June 15th fight between American heavyweight Deontay Wilder (28-0, 28 Ko’s) and British heavyweight Dereck Chisora (16-4, 10 KO’s) may not happen for a number of reasons, one of which is Deontay’s legal issues stemming from his May 4th arrest in Las Vegas, Nevada for domestic battery.

It’s unclear whether Deontay can travel outside of the U.S next month with that issue still not having been taken care of. However, that doesn’t mean that Chisora can’t come to the U.S to fight Deontay if Chisora and his promoter Frank Warren really want the fight that badly.

Wilder-Chisora fight still up in the air

chisora3243By Scott Gilfoid: The proposed June 15th clash between the up and coming star heavyweight monster puncher Deontay Wilder (28-0, 28 KO’s) and the domestic British heavyweight Dereck Chisora (16-4, 10 KO’s) is still up in the air, as the negotiations are still ongoing and it’s unclear if the fight will take place or not.

There’s a lot of stuff happening that could potentially cause the fight from getting made, such as Deontay’s recent arrest in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Chisora’s matchmaker Dean Powell is hoping the fight can be made, but there are a lot of hoops that need to be jumped through before the fight can get put together and at the end of the day it might not be worth it to make the fight. It might be best that it scraped.

Schaefer: Deontay Wilder vs. Dereck Chisora still not a done deal

chisora434By Scott Gilfoid: Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer is saying that the June 15th fight between unbeaten heavyweight contender Deontay Wilder (28-0, 28 KO’s) and the non-top 15 ranked contender Dereck Chisora (16-4, 10 KO’s) isn’t a done deal despite the fight having been announced earlier Thursday.

Dan Rafael said on his twitter: “Schaefer on Wilder-Chisora: ‘[Warren] wanted a quote from me for the press conference but I wouldn’t give it to them because it wasn’t done. We sent them like four 4 emails telling them not to announce it and sure enough they go and announce it.’”

Dereck Chisora: Back with a bang in fight against Deontay Wilder

chisora53By Dimond Dallas: First off, I know that British heavyweight “Del Boy” already made his comeback on April 20 in a lackluster TKO stoppage win over Hector Avila who was someone just there for Dereck Chisora (16-4, 10 KO’s) to beat and get some much needed rounds in after  his rather extended period of inactivity… but his upcoming fight with Deontay Wilder (28-0, 28 KO’s) next month on June 15h at the Wembley Arena in London, UK is the one fight with which he will be make his ‘real’ return to the ring… where I hope that he decides to comeback with a bang…

Dereck Chisora is a legitimate top name in heavyweight boxing now and there is something about his rise to fame that all boxing promoters and boxers alike must take note of and that is in professional boxing what is important is to have a degree of legitimacy about you as against having a padded up resume with meaningless wins against nameless oppositions…

Deontay Wilder vs. Dereck Chisora: Baby steps

wilder46By Daniel Mcglinchey: Recently arrested American heavyweight Deontay Wilder (28-0, 28 KO’s) is scheduled to return to England next month to face second tier Brit Dereck Chisora (16-4, 10 KO’s) at Wembley Arena June 15th. Dereck is a strange character, who is perhaps better known for his antics outside the ring rather than in.

Chisora has not one win over a credible opponent and looked awful in his latest outing against an unknown journeyman Hector Alfrdedo Avila (20-12-1, 13 KO’s). Derek has lost 4 of his last 6 to the likes of Tyson Fury, David Haye, Robert Helenius and Vitali Klitschko.

Deontay thought he was being robbed

wilder3423By Scott Gilfoid: I had a feeling that there was a rush to judgment by some boxing fans about unbeaten heavyweight Deontay Wilder’s alleged assault last Saturday night and it looks like I may be right. According to Deontay’s attorney Paul Patterson, he says Deontay thought he was about to be robbed last Saturday night in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Speaking with the tuscaloosanews.com, Deontay said “Deontay instinctively acted under the impression that someone was stealing from him. That wasn’t the case. He regrets his actions. He is extremely regretful…He and the victim have spoken about this and the victim has accepted his apology. We hope this matter will be brought to a resolution soon.”

Deontay Wilder is innocent until proven guilty

wilder53By Scott Gilfoid: Let’s not rush to judgment about unbeaten heavyweight Deontay Wilder’s alleged domestic violence case stemming from last Saturday night in Las Vegas, Nevada. We don’t know what happened because none of us where when this alleged incident took place.

No one knows what he’s guilty, so it’s best not to rush to judgment about this case. For all we know, Deontay did nothing and is innocent. That’s for the courts to decide. It’s just kind of sad to see a lot of people forming opinions about this talented fighter without anyone knowing the facts of what allegedly happened on that night.

Deontay Wilder will be the Heavyweight champion!

wilder364By Tony Crooks: When I first watched undefeated heavyweight contender Deontay Wilder (28-0, 28 KO’s), I thought, here is another fighter that has a padded out record fighting people that are not capable of defending themselves.

I recently viewed as many fights of Wilders that I could find. Yes, the opposition was not the best that boxing has to offer, but having said that, he has a very special talent which I have never seen in a boxer in my life.

Boxers work off the jab to set up the right hand, right uppercut or right cross, visa versa if you are a southpaw.

Warren makes offer for Dereck Chisora vs. Deontay Wilder fight in the summer

chisora22By Scott Gilfoid: British promoter Frank Warren reportedly has made an offer to match his fighter heavyweight Dereck Chisora (16-4, 10 KO’s) against the unbeaten Golden Boy Promotions heavyweight Deontay Wilder (28-0, 28 KO’s) for a fight that would take place in the summer if Golden Boy accepts the offer.

Warren said in his column at frankwarren.com “There isn’t a real name of substance on his [Deontay] CV, he looks crude and open. I’d heavily back a fit and fired up Dereck Chisora to tame him and have already made the Yanks a substantial offer to return here [UK] this summer.”

Lennox: Deontay Wilder needs work on his punching

wilder23By Scott Gilfoid: Former heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis recently got the chance to see unbeaten American heavyweight Deontay Wilder (28-0, 28 KO’s) destroy fellow British heavyweight Audley Harrison in a 1st round knockout in London, UK, and Lewis came away from the experience thinking that the 6’7” Wilder needs work on his punching.

Wilder hurt Audley with his first right hand of the fight, and he then snowed him under with windmill shots until Audley collapsed on the canvas. He got up and the fight was stopped because Deontay had done such a good job with his big power shots, but it looks like Lewis wasn’t all that impressed.
