Tevin Farmer vs. Billy Dib – Results

By Jim Dower: In a complete mismatch, Tevin Farmer (26-4-1, 5 KOs) defeated former IBF 126 pound champion Billy Dib (43-5, 24 KOs) by a 12 unanimous decision to claim the vacant International Boxing Federation super featherweight title on Thursday night at the Technology Park in Sydney, Australia. The 32-year-old Dib retired from boxing following his loss. It’s probably a good thing Dib retired because he’s not going anywhere in the super featherweight division.

Dib defeats Oliver

dib1By Jim Dower: Billy Dib (36-2, 21 KO’s) grinded out a 10 round majority decision on Friday night over hometown fighter Mike Oliver (25-4, 8 KO’s) at the Connecticut Convention Center, in Hartford, Connecticut, USA.

The Dib-Oliver fight was pushed to the main event after light heavyweight Allan Green pulled out of his fight against undefeated Eleider Alvarez today complaining of food poisoning. Alvarez’s promoter didn’t have time to find a replacement for him, so he was off the card too.

Aside from Dib losing a point in the 2nd and 3rd rounds from low blows, the fight was mostly a one-sided affair with Dib having his way with Oliver on the inside against the ropes. The judges scored the fight 94-94, 96-92, 96-92.
