Broner vs. DeMarco: I’m going to knock Antonio out, says Adrien

Image: Broner vs. DeMarco: I'm going to knock Antonio out, says AdrienBy Scott Gilfoid: Adrien Broner (24-0, 20 KO’s) is on a mission on November 17th. He’s coming to take WBC lightweight champion Antonio DeMarco’s title and do it in style by knocking him out cold in their fight on HBO at the Boardwalk Hall, Atlantic City, in New Jersey, USA. Broner, 23, is moving up in weight and he wants to beat the so-called best fighter at lightweight in DeMarco and look sensation in doing so.

Broner said “I’m not coming just to win this fight, I’m coming to knock DeMarco out…it’s just going to be another day in the ring for me.”

Broner on his way to greatness with win over DeMarco

Image: Broner on his way to greatness with win over DeMarcoBy Scott Gilfoid: Adrien Broner (24-0, 20 KO’s) first stop off while on his way to setting the boxing world on fire is a fight against WBC lightweight champion Antonio DeMarco (28-2-1, 21 KO’s) next month on November 17th at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Broner, 23, will dominate DeMarco and take his strap.

From there Broner will move onto taking the other lightweight straps against Miguel Vazquez and Ricky Burns. Broner will likely have problems getting a fight with Burns, because once Broner destroys DeMarco, I expect Burns to be kept far, far away from Broner to where he’ll never get a fight with him. Right now, Broner’s name is being mentioned by Burn’s promoters about a possible unification match between them.

Broner: DeMarco won’t be able to use his power against me

Image: Broner: DeMarco won't be able to use his power against meBy Dan Ambrose: Adrien Broner (24-0, 20 KO’s) isn’t too proud to admit that WBC lightweight champion Antonio DeMarco (28-2-1, 21 KO’s) is a big puncher, but he doesn’t see it helping him any to win their fight on November 17th at the Boardwalk Hall, in Atlantic City, New Jersey. At the end of the day, Broner sees his skills as being the reason why he’ll dominate the 26-year-old 5’10” DeMarco and he could be right.

Broner said in an interview at RingTV “A lot of people think that he’s the bigger guy and the bigger puncher, but once we get in there, you will see who is the bigger and the better guy…I know that he’s got the size, and it’s obvious that he can punch. But what’s power against something that you can’t hit?”

Broner pulling the race card

Image: Broner pulling the race cardBy Duke Pahulu: Adrien Broner alluded on RingTV.com that he doesn’t get the credit he deserves because he’s African American. The truth of the matter is that he doesn’t get the credit because he hasn’t faced or beaten a legit threat in his career yet. Before signing up to face Antonio DeMarco, Broner was on the same boat as Saul Alvarez in that the resume doesn’t matchup with the hype.

Up to this point, Broner’s best opponent was Daniel Ponce de Leon who just won a featherweight title and only fought at 130 once against Broner. And Broner looked rather pedestrian in the fight that many thought Ponce De Leon won. Broner failed to take advantage of a weak 130 division by not facing the likes of Takashi Uchiyama, Juan Carlos Salgado, Takahiro Ao or Roman Martinez.

Shaw: DeMarco is a major step up in class for Adrien Broner

Image: Shaw: DeMarco is a major step up in class for Adrien BronerBy Scott Gilfoid: Gary Shaw, the promoter for WBC lightweight champion Antonio DeMarco (28-2-1, 21 KO’s), thinks that former WBO super featherweight champion Adrien Broner (24-0, 20 KO’s) will be taking a huge step up in class when he fights DeMarco for his World Boxing Council strap on HBO on November 17th at the Boardwalk Hall, in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Shaw said to RingTV “For Broner, this is a major step up, because DeMarco has been in thee with [Edwin] Valero and [Jorge] Linares…DeMarco is a tremendous puncher. So if DeMarco hurts Adrien Broner at all, then he knows how to finish him.”

Burns wants Broner-DeMarco winner

Image: Burns wants Broner-DeMarco winnerBy Scott Gilfoid: WBO lightweight champion Ricky Burns (35-2, 10 KO’s) will be back in the ring on December 15th, possibly against a top 10 contender. However, Liam Walsh, a #13 WBO contender has been mentioned as someone who could end up facing Burns. That’s not exactly a top 10 contender, is it?

Burns said in an interview today that he’s interested in fighting the winner of the November 17th fight between WBC lightweight champion Antonio DeMarco and Adrien Broner in a unification match.

Burns said to Iflilm London

Image: A win for Broner over DeMarco will establish him as the top fighter at lightweightBy Scott Gilfoid: The talented former WBO super featherweight champion Adrien Broner (24-0, 20 KO’s) is only one victory away from establishing himself as the best lightweight in the division if the 23-year-old Broner can get past WBC lightweight champion Antonio DeMarco (28-2-1, 21 KO’s) on November 17th at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

DeMarco, 26, has already shown recently with wins over Jorge Linares, Miguel Roman and John Molina that he’s the class of the entire lightweight division.

Broner vs. DeMarco on November 17th on HBO

Image: Broner vs. DeMarco on November 17th on HBOBy Dan Ambrose: In the latest boxing news, Dan Rafael of ESPN is reporting that the talked about fight between WBC lightweight champion Antonio DeMarco (28-2-1, 21 KO’s) and former WBO super featherweight champion Adrien Broner (24-0, 20 KO’s) is a done deal for November 17th in an HBO televised fight at a still to be determined venue in the United States.

This is sensational because these two fighters – DeMarco and Broner – are arguably the two best lightweights in the division right now. I know some boxing fans might think that WBO lightweight champion Ricky Burns and IBF champion Miguel Vazquez deserve to have their names up there as well, but I certainly don’t.
