Photo: Tom Casino/SHOWTIME – By Esteban Garduno: I really think lightweight Antonio DeMarco (23-1-1, 17 KO’s) is a superb fighter and someone to watch in the future as he gets older and moves up in weight, but as far as this Saturday’s bout with World Boxing Council lightweight champion Edwin Valero (26-0, 26 KO’s) goes, I think DeMarco is going to literally get blown out of the water and wind up staring at the lights. I just hope he’s not blinded by them, because I see there as being little chance that DeMarco gets out of this fight on his feet.

Valero vs. DeMarco: I feel sorry for Antonio
By Esteban Garduno: I almost feel sorry for World Boxing Council interim lightweight champion Antonio DeMarco (23-1-1, 17 KO’s), because he has the bad luck of facing WBC lightweight champion Edwin Valero (26-0, 26 KO’s), who may be the most purest puncher in all of boxing right now. DeMarco, 24, really has his hands full this Saturday night with the big punching Valero when they meet up in a 12 round championship bout at the Arena Monterrey, Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico.
Valero vs. DeMarco: Look for Edwin to destroy Antonio
By Sean McDaniel: On February 6th, World Boxing Council lightweight champion Edwin Valero (26-0, 26 KO’s) will be putting his perfect knockout record on the line against WBC interim champion Antonio DeMarco (23-1-1, 17 KO’s) in a 12 round title bout at the Arena Monterrey, Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico. Valero, 28, will be giving up three inches in height and reach to the 5’10” DeMarco. However, what he gives up in size and reach, Valero will more than make up in the power department.
DeMarco Next Victim for Valero
By Ted Sares: “El Inca” is an equal opportunity destroyer having dispatched Colombians, Americans, Panamanians, Argentineans, Mexicans, Armenians, Japanese, and even Venezuelans. And whether he fights in his adopted base of Japan or his native Venezuela (or somewhere in between), he brings incredible excitement into the ring, and it’s as much about his vulnerabilities as it is his skills. The way he used to come in throwing wide and looping punches from different angles just begged for a fast and straight puncher to take him out and most aficionados knew it.
Perez defeats Agbeko, DeMarco stops Alfaro – Boxing Results
By Scott Gilfoid: Last nights’ bout between International Boxing Federation bantamweight champion Joseph Agbeko (27-2, 22 KO’s) and undefeated challenger Yonnhy Perez (20-0, 14 KO’s) was one of the worst scored fights I’ve seen since the Carl Froch vs. Andre Dirrell bout on October 17th. Agbeko, the 29-year-old champion, was making his third defense of his IBF title at the Treasure Island Casino, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
DeMarco Stops Adjaho
By Dave Lahr: Lightweight contender Antonio DeMarco (22-1-1, 16 KO’s) stopped Anges Adjaho (25-2, 14 KO’s) in the 9th round in the World Boxing Council lightweight Eliminator bout on Saturday night at the BankAtlantic Center, in Sunrise, Florida. DeMarco, 23, hurt Adjaho with a big right hand in the 9th round, staggering him and sending him down.
DeMarco Stops Raiymkulov
By Chris Williams: Lightweight fringe contender Antonio DeMarco (20-1-1, 14 KOs) stopped Almazbek “Kid Diamond” Raiymkulov (27-2-1, 15 KOs) in the 9th round on Saturday night at the The Pond, Anaheim, in California. DeMarco, 23, got the win after Raiymkulov sustained a broken nose in the 9th round. The fight was then stopped after the 9th by the ringside doctor. Before that, the fight was pretty much close with Raiymkulov to be getting the better of the action up until injuring his nose in the 9th.
