Abraham Knocks Out Taylor; Look for Froch to get beaten later tonight

By Scott Gilfoid: It looks like Jermain Taylor fell apart against Arthur Abraham tonight, wasting a golden opportunity to pick up an easy win against the limited Abraham. I don’t care if Abraham won. Taylor should have won the fight without any problems if he had fought smart and not traded shots with Abraham. I don’t know what happened to him. Taylor used to be able to move around the ring without his legs getting tired out him, but against Abraham he was fighting like he was in quick sand. Still, there was no quit in Taylor. Afterwards, Taylor has this to say: “I’m really disappointed and pretty sad, it was a hard punch, no questions…I’m not finished yet, I can win my next two fights.”

Calzaghe Sees Froch beating Dirrell, and Haye defeating Valuev – News

By Scott Gilfoid: Former IBF/WBA/WBC/WBO super middleweight champion Joe Calzaghe thinks that World Boxing Council super middleweight champion Carl Froch will beat American Andre Dirrell tomorrow night in Nottingham, according to a column from Calzaghe in the South Wales Argus. Calzaghe seems to be picking from his heart rather than his head, though, saying “The best thing for British boxing would be a Carl Froch win.” As such, I have to dismiss Calzaghe’s prediction as him rooting for a fellow UK fighter. Obviously, being from Wales, Calzaghe has probably seen few, if any, of Dirrell’s prior fights, so I doubt he has much knowledge on him.

Froch on the edge of Recognition?

dirrell-froch45By Jordan Stoddart: For a moment, I nearly inserted Greatness in place of Recognition. I will put that down to the hype and excitement of this weekend’s fight, and a slightly biased view from myself of Carl Froch. Actually, cancel that too; I am praying that Froch performs well and can be crowned the savour of British Boxing and leader of the new world.

How Froch can Beat Dirrell

dirrell332By Scott Gilfoid: After having watched every single fight of Andre Dirrell, I know how he be beaten. I might be giving away my secrets by explaining how WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch can beat the talented Dirrell next Saturday night, but I seriously doubt that Froch would a good enough pupil to follow by near priceless advice, so I’m comfortable with explaining how Dirrell can be beaten to the uninformed boxing public.

Dirrell: “I’m going to punch holes in that gasbag [Froch]”

dirrel4457By Scott Gilfoid: In the latest presser from undefeated Andre Dirrell (18-0, 13 KO’s) today, he sent a searing line drive right down WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch’s throat, saying “I’m going to punch holes in that gasbag [Froch].” Oh boy, I wonder what old Froch is going to say about that. He’s probably going to blow a gasket when he reads what Dirrell is saying now.

Dirrell up against a slow [Froch] wide Bullseye

froch432445By Scott Gilfoid: Next weeks on Saturday night, WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch will be facing a fighter in Andre Dirrell who will wreck his world and ruin Froch’s perfect record in the first fight of the Super Six tournament in Nottingham, England. Froch might as well have a bull’s-eye painted to his head because he’s going to be so wide open for every punch that Dirrell throws. For a fighter like Froch, who is the poster boy for how not to fight, he’s going to be getting riddled to pieces by the lightning fast Dirrell. Froch basically will be going into the fight thinking he’s facing another one of his over-matched opponents that he’s fought during his career, but he’s going to be in for a rude surprise when he starts taking shots.

Super Six: Shaken and Stirred!

kessler45By Nikolaj Ovesen: October 17th this year seems to be quite a bit more significant than it has been for many years. Why? Because it’s the start of a tournament, where six top boxers will go toe to toe with each other. On October 17th and November 21st, these six fighters will try to prove they are the best of the bunch. In the end there’ll be 3 matches in this first round of the tournament. These three matches have been analyzed countless times, by journalists, analysts, and so called boxing experts. I’m of course talking about the matches between Froch/Dirrell, Abraham/Taylor and Kessler/Ward. I’m not here to give my analysis on these bouts but my prediction to how these fights will end is: Froch KO6, Taylor UD12 and Kessler KO11.
