How Froch can Beat Dirrell

dirrell332By Scott Gilfoid: After having watched every single fight of Andre Dirrell, I know how he be beaten. I might be giving away my secrets by explaining how WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch can beat the talented Dirrell next Saturday night, but I seriously doubt that Froch would a good enough pupil to follow by near priceless advice, so I’m comfortable with explaining how Dirrell can be beaten to the uninformed boxing public.

It’s going to take a super performance from Froch where he will need to follow every step of my advice to get the win. If he misses one step, Froch’s a goner and will lose just as badly as if he had followed none of my steps. Froch is facing a superior fighter in every way possible way he can imagine. Offensively, defensively, speed, height, reach, you name it. Dirrell is superior to the British fighter.

However, Dirrell is human and does have certain weaknesses if a fighter is smart enough to exploit them. I think Froch is a smart person, but he won’t be clever enough or persistent enough to stick to the right game plan and will end up getting his ears boxed off.

Secret strategy #1 – Dirrell likes to hit and get away quickly from his opponents. In most cases, Dirrell opponents are either too slow or too clueless to realize that they need to go after him and try to force him to fight. This allows Dirrell to circle around the ring and start landing his lightning fast shots from a different area of the ring. He’s very effective when he’s able to move like this without having to pay the price. Froch needs to move quickly – if that’s possible – and chase Dirrell down and force him to keep exchanging punches whether he wants to or not. Dirrell won’t be comfortable if Froch can do this. However, it won’t be easy because Froch doesn’t fight well going forward.

Secret Strategy #2 – Dirrell sometimes leaves himself wide open for counter shots when he throws his combinations. In fact, a lot of the time Dirrell is wide open for counter shots when he’s throwing his magnificent flurries. Since most of his prior opponents have been somewhat mediocre in talent, Dirrell hasn’t had to pay the price for his sloppy defense.

Secret Strategy #3 – I noticed that in some of Dirrell’s fights, he’s shown a weakness for getting hit by lead right hands. I don’t know if this is because he’s a southpaw or what, but he often times gets hit cleanly by lead right hands. But on the flip side, if an opponent throws a jab before the right, Dirrell is good at getting out of the way of the trailing right hand. It seems that the jab gets Dirrell’s radar up and gets him ready for the right hand that comes trailing after.

This is all I dare reveal about Dirrell, because if I were to give away all of the secrets how to beat him, Froch might come in prepared enough to beat him. The chances, of course, would be almost nil because Froch would have to follow every step or else he’d end up getting beaten, but there would still be that small chance.
