By Joe Neale: On October 17th Carl Froch will get the chance to close a few more mouths about him being a credible world champion against overrated and untested Andre Dirrell at Nottingham. After the great comeback against Jermaine Taylor in the United States, a lot of people thought Froch was out-boxed. Taylor gassed out and Froch got lucky, but you can never judge a boxer by one fight. In my opinion Froch was poor against Taylor.

Andre Dirrell boxing news
Dirrell = Skills Like a young Ali – Froch = Power like Liston
By Scott Gilfoid: The upcoming October 17th Super Six bout between World Boxing Council super middleweight champion Carl Froch and challenger Andre Dirrell reminds me in a lot of ways of the first fight between Muhammad Ali, then known as Cassius Clay, and Sonny Liston. At the time the fight took place, Clay wasn’t given much chance by boxing establishment because they saw him as too young, inexperienced and not tough enough to last against the powerful Liston.
Oct 17 – Super Six Picks: Abraham-Taylor, Dirrell-Froch – the boxer and the puncher to win
By Al Francis: The first two bouts of Showtime’s inaugural super six world boxing classic tournament are just round the corner. On October 17th Jermain ‘bad intentions’ Taylor will take on ‘king’ Arthur Abraham in Berlin, while Carl ‘the cobra’ Froch meets ‘the matrix’ Andre Dirrell in Nottingham. Both bouts promise to be intriguing as both are classic ‘boxer vs puncher’ matchups and have fans divided as to who’ll win and with four of the tournaments six fighters competing, each fighter will want to be the one that makes the lasting impression. With both bouts evenly matched and difficult to call, this writer makes his predictions.
Dirrell: “I will do anything for the world title”
By Scott Gilfoid: Unbeaten super middleweight Andre Dirrell (18-0, 13 KO’s) appears more than ready to take out WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch (25-0, 20 KO’s) as the Super Six tournament gets underway in a little over two weeks from now in Nottingham, England. Dirrell had this to say to the Las Vegas Sun:
Who is Andre Dirrell?
By Mark Wright: On the 17th of October the inaugural bout of the ground breaking super six tournament will get under way. When the possibility of a series was announced I was in awe of the possibilities who would be involved Froch, Kessler, Pavlik possibly? Andrade, Bute and Taylor would surely be in the mix.
Froch-Dirrell: A Contrast in Pedigree
By John Dimeck: Boxing fans are quite eager for the start of the super 6 tournament and an intriguing match-up gets things going on Oct 17 when WBC Champ at 168 Carl Froch takes on little known Andre Dirrell from the US in Froch’s hometown of Nottingham England.
Abraham-Taylor, Froch-Dirrell – Super Six Tourney Preview
By Scot Gilfoid: Next month, on October 17th, the Super Six tournament starts with two first two bouts of the series with super middleweights Arthur Abraham vs. Jermain Taylor and Andre Dirrell vs. Carl Froch in what will likely be two explosive bouts. The third bout, Andre Ward vs. Mikkel Kessler, will take place a month later on November 21st.
Look for Froch to Come Unglued if Dirrell Beats him
By Scott Gilfoid: I see World Boxing Council super middleweight champion Carl Froch as a fighter who’s really into routines. He probably does largely the same kind of workout daily, does a set amount of sit-ups and perhaps even combs his hair a certain amount of times. In getting beaten by Andre Dirrell on October 17th, I think this is going to really mess up Froch’s head and cause him to self destruct in many ways.

Doomsday approaching for Dirrell
By Steven Wain: Well, it’s just under 1 month (26 days to be precise) until, Carl “The Cobra” Froch (25-0-20 KO’s) takes on overrated American Andre “The Matrix” Dirrell (18-0-13 KO’s) in the first round of the super six world boxing tournament, Froch will also be defending his WBC super middleweight title, which he won in 2008 when he beat Jean Pascal by unanimous point’s victory. The fight will take place at the Trent FM Arena in Nottingham, England.
